so the car recently starting breaking up in 1st and second it hit about 10 psi of boost and falls off , in third forth and 5th its usually fine, what could this be? bad compression? the car drives great and feels great in 3rd forth and firth but nothing in second and third, i recently replaced the plugs with bpr 7es gapped to .28 also i went from a tial to a stock 1g bov recirculated, i do here the bov whistling on decel though, also the car was tuned in the fall and its a bit colder now, any ideas, maybe just afr is off, it pins 10 to 1 under boost no knock either. any help would be great

Check your coil and plug wires to make sure there not arking, mine did about the same thing it would pull for a second then break up real bad then finally pull threw it. Every thing read fine on my dsmlink, so i was under the hood one day with it running and i could hear the coil arking, so i decided to go cop instead.

On Dsmlink, log the boostEST. Does that match up with the actual boost pressure on the gauge? If it doesn't, then look into a MAF problem. Since you are running a 2g MAf, it shouldn't give you too much of a headache, but if there's a boost leak going on, this will mess with the amount of air the computer *thinks* its seeing vs. the actual air going into the engine. Or the sensor itself could be taking a crap.

Had a similar breaking up problem, and after changing plugs, checking the gaps several times, changing the wires, coil and checking for boost leaks, the problem was still there... saw that the boostEST was nearly 50% higher at higher RPM's than what the gauge was reading. So spent some time calibrating the MAF sensor at those higher RPM's to bring the BoostEst back in line with the gauge reading and the car cleaned right up. (GM 3" MAF for the record)

Since first and second gears are shorter, you are reaching those higher rpm's pretty quick. Have you tried winding it out in 4th and 5th to see if it still breaks up at the higher rpms?

check spark plugs x2. Also, 10:1 under boost is a little rich. Are you on DSMLink? is it 10:1 under boost in all gears?
