2G Brake light stays on but lower brightness

I don’t know if it’s even really visible in the photos I attached but recently whenever I put down the hand brake the light seems to stay on but I can see it not be as bright as it was when the hand brake was on. I checked the brake fluid and it seemed fine. Anyone know why this is? Would greatly appreciate the help as this is my first car (2G Eclipse GS-T)

Check your brake fluid reservoir first. If that’s not it the switch is under the center console on the base of the e brake arm.

The brake light can also come on if the alternator is not charging the battery, though I think it comes one with the srs light at the same time to indicate alternator failure

The alternator not charging the battery illuminates the battery light and the brake light simultaneously.

The brake light wire or switch could be shorted to ground if you've confirmed proper fluid level and proper function of the reservoir float/switch.
