BOV not blowing off

I bought a 1g Talon a few weeks ago. And the BOV does not work, at all. The seller told me the reason for this was, a clogged cat. So I gutted it, put it back in, and it stil does not work. I found a vaccum leak in the one of the lines coming off the BOV, and it still does not work. The vaccum line was getting suction, so it was working. But I can't figure out why it does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a couple of things. First of all are you sure it isn't working, have you stuck your hand by it and reved the motor to see if it opens. And secondly if it doesn't then it is just bad and you would be better off just investing in a new one. They are all over tuners and ebay. I'm guessing the previous owner tried crushing it and went to far.

Yeah, I bought a new BOV off of my friends TSi, I know for a fact that it worked. I am just going to try replaceing the vaccum hoses.
