bought a semi built 1g and trying to get the car figured out.

Iv been looking for a decent 1g dsm for the last year or two and finally came up on a hell of a deal. I got the car a few weeks ago and Iv been trying to figure it out. it had a idle issue (idled at 3k LOL) but I fixed that. also it had the half shaft bolts back out but that was a easy fix as well. the previous owner told me the car has dsm link (im assuming v2) and it has a gm maf and maft on the car. I think that the car is really temperamental with weather changes due to the gm maf.

Is there anything I can do to make that work better? also when I move the wires around for the gm maf the car starts changing how it runs slightly (there is no shorts in the wires but just a crappy connection I think)


I have a wideband in the car and under light throttle and cruising its about 17-20 afr LOL. it seems to buck a bit from running too lean under cruising as well. the car was tuned by english but I think the maf isn't reading right or has a bad connection.

just waiting on a d9 to usb adapter to come so I can use my laptop to mess with it.
 
figured it out after a little bit of searching. the gm maf was just dirty/ wet. made a new intake for it with a filter (since the turbo was just open before) and now it runs 10x better. I plan on pulling all the charge pipes off the next nice day I have free and cleaning and drying everything 100%.

Im in love with this car. its a nice change from what Im used to.


now I have a reasonably sized oil leak I need to get figured out, appears to be coming from in between the tranny and block.
 
Have you figured out your oil leak if not what i would do is wash the motor down real nice and watch for new leaks..could be something really easy such as a cam seal or valve cover gasket you never know. good luck.
