hahaha...a dolphin...that made my day.

Id have to agree with Jeff99GS, if i saw a very clean 2gb Talon or Eclipse...hands down id take em over a Cobalt...even if i new nothing about DSM's.

I know what you mean... at least its newer! Eventually the Cobalt will give him the same problems as a DSM if not MORE. Trust me I used to have a z26 cav back in the day with the 2.8 multi port v6. It was quick, but that bastard always broke and was hard to work on.

Wow that's almost like a Dodge Ram center armrest hahaha ROFL.
Sorry man you're just not going to convince me to like that car...I just don't see it.

I see THIS
WTF

Ahahahahahah! :p That is so funny! But in all seriousness I'm not taking anything away from the guy. As a DSM'er it's our job to give him a hard time, because he bought something other than a DSM. It's a right of passage, and it's how you know your accepted in the DSM community.

To the OP, nice car. Glad you went with the supercharged one. And I know what you mean, by a nicer car. It feels great driving something dependable, that you dont have to worry about, plus its backed by a warranty. I'll be glad when I can upgrade to something nicer.

Congrats on the car. I wasn't able to afford a decent car with under 30,000 miles until I was 26. Mind you, that's why I can fix anything on any car now, but it would have been nice to have a warranty and a nice looking car when I was young.

little off topic but "vanilla gorilla" what were you looking at?

Nothing in particular right now, because it will be a while before I can afford anything, with me being in college, and working a crappy job and all. But when I do get something it will be something to cruise, I'm tired of this tuner BS. But I probly wont get rid of the eclipse, I will keep it to continue to build, since its not worth anything anyway.

I cant believe some of you guys, Your srsly trying to tell me you think a car that is 10-20 years old is nicer than a car that is 3 1/2 years old? Sorry but you are stupid. Faster? Yes i will give you that, But thats what DSM's are known for, Not being nice.

I know this is DSM website and all but damn nicer is nicer.

I must say im embarrassed at the DSM community :toobad:

Car_guy_09

very nice! I've been looking for a yellow/black SS/SC for awhile now. gotta love a warranty!
what are the plans for it?

###### just a few small things til goes out of warranty then im shootin for 12's and maybe a turbo swap some day.

k the interior is nothing alike at all. and the only thing on the outside that is comparable is the window line...which the DSM has rounded ones sooooo actually not really alike at all...

Thank you, Im glad you know somthing and not shooting your mouth off like everybody else.

Btw, I plan to buy one of those soon

I'm sorry you started young. Debt is not a good thing to start your life out with.

I'm a Dave Ramsey fan and don't believe in loans on cars. If you can't pay cash for it you don't need it. Just some food for thought.

If you got it for 10,400 and it's on a 48month loan @ 6.5% intrest plus add in the sales tax if they rolled that in there for ya. You're probably around a $290 monthly payment correct? You'll end up paying around 15k for that $10,000 car.

What's the insurance like on that thing? Especially at your age?

Yep once you're out in the world things will change... That's why I drive a paid off cheap/fun/fast/stress relieving DSM.

Exactly, nicer is nicer. Interior wise the Slowbalt is nicer. Exterior wise, a good clean 2GB wins it hands down by FAR. Don't get all butt hurt. This is a DSM enthusiast forum, where we talk about DSM's, and DSM's, and guess what? DSM's. Of course we aren't going to like it if you come in here saying some slowbalt "you" bought is nicer than all DSM's everywhere, period. Also, it is annoying how you posted the same set of pics twice, with only a few that are different.

Do the same thing on any forum though. Go to slowbaltforums.com and tell them your selling your Slowbalt for a DSM, and that the DSM is much nicer than any Slowbalt can ever be, and watch how they react.

Same exact reactions, I assure you. My advice to you is stop acting like a 16 year old(LOL) and buck up a bit. Not everyone is going to just LOVE your car as much as you do. That's the hard facts about life, sorry to tell you.

Also, I laughed how your trying to say people are shooting off at the mouth, yet here you go making all these claims and reasons why your car is nicer than a DSM. Teapot calling the kettle black, mm?

He's mad at my Dolphin picture LOL.

You got to understand that everyone has different tastes. That's why the whole world drives different kinds of cars. Some people like cobalts and minivans, Some like sports cars, trucks, motorcycles SOME like lowriders, donk's, muscle cars, military trucks and the list goes on. That's why we all drive different makes and models....we are all different.

I will never think a cobalt is nicer than any 4g63 DSM. You MAY think it's "nicer" but That's your opinion. You need to shuffle on over to Cacbalt.net where everyone will love your new Cacbolt.

I kinda like Slowbalt, better. :p Just kinda rolls off the tongue, you know? I do think your dolphin pic got to him though. Oh well, can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen right? :D

:dsm::talon::laser: Forever.

Congratulations on the new buy!

My friend has the N/A version and he seems to like it. However, as others have mentioned, I would not suggest attempting to convert all of the DSM enthusiasts into cobalt lovers ROFL just not gonna happen. Also, you seem to be under the impression that newer is nicer?? Not sure what you value your cars on, but nicer to me is definitely nothing new (besides maybe the new challenger) but I guess I am just an oldie at 17 :).

Amen, brother. You give me hope for kids your age, well done. :D

On that note, your saying your new Cobalt would be nicer than a mint 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454, with the red and black stripes? The Chevelle is a 37 year old car, so your brand new Cobalt blows it out of the water, right? ROFL

The new Turbo SS is nice, the supercharged one I never cared for. That said, I would defiantly buy a SS turbo model for a daily driver. Car and driver I think it was, was claiming it was hands down one of the best handling FWD car ever. Hell it actually BEAT the Evo X around there test track by like half a sec.

If I'm going to buy a "newer" turbo car, it would be an Evo VIII-IX. But, I will agree I do like the Turbo SS's. I still wouldn't spend the 20k or so they want for it, but if I had the money, it'd go to an Evo. An Evo, or a Mitsu Mirage with a 4G63 and AWD Swap. :p

I think its pretty bad when the colbat SS 08-09 is one of the fastest FWD cars around a track. That American car can even handle better than the little miss piggy EVO X, around a track that is.

Also to the OP the LSJ Motor(supercharged Ecotec) and LNF motor(turbo ecotec) have about as much in common as the 4G63 and the 4B11. They are completely different motors and ECU's. the LNF has VVT, Direct Injection, Gen II block. different heads, ETC. The best thing about the LNF equipped cars is factory wideband sensors. ECU can keep its AFR with added mods!

I wouldn't sell my DSM to get one, but i wouldn't mind having one for free!:D
