If your going to want to run 30lbs on your engine don't go with a turbo as small as the bigt28. No offence but look at a FPgreen or a 20g or 50trim setup. It's a good turbo (I have one) and I've heard they can handle up to about 20-24lbs without a problem but I don't know past that.

If you have done all of those things to your car then go with some variant of a larger ballbearing type turbo. Look at Forced Performance and there new style turbos. They are great spooling and can handle MUCH more than the T-28.

(No offense to anyone running that turbo.)

I want a daily driver and i want something thats gunna last me a while and is gunna have some nice pep, to compeet with the stis and evos around here. I wanna put some reliabilty into a 2g awd (not that they arent) so that if I beet on it , it doesnt break, So I was looking into things like built trannys, bigger turbos with the stock look, basically I want the car to look stock but preform far from it. Also want to do away with the 7 bolt and do a 6 bolt with 2g pistons, bs eliminated. for fuel walbro 255, fpr, 550s, afc. either greddy or apexi front mount. I was just wondering what people have pushed this turbo to, I just wanna no things like how much wheel hp it can support with all supporting mods, i dont have any of this done yet, I dont even have the car yet, Im just pricing it all out to see what direction im gunna go with the car when i get it. Im not looking to go past 24psi, disregard my last post about 30psi.

From FP's site:

Results not typical but it shows some max potential:

Our goal with the FP-Big28 was similar to its FP-T28/28 predecessor… to create a fast spooling, bolt on turbo that got up and went. We wanted to give the FP-Big28 a little more "umph" than the T-28, but when we strapped one on a 2G AWD and took it to the track, the results knocked us on our ass. At 21psi, the FP-Big28 pulled our full weight 99 GSX to an [email protected]

If you are looking for speed and quickness, go for that Big28 or a 16G variant. If you are looking for all out power numbers wise, then go for the bigger turbo.

24psi is capable with some race gas and a good tune. I wouldn't sport that much PSI daily on a T28 of any variant. If you want a turbo to boost 20psi+ daily then go bigger.

You forget about the advantage of fast and low spooling though. I love my turbo for this reason. It makes a big difference when flying into a corner hard. You slam that pedal down and have traction out the ass when that turbo kicks in fast and hard.

There are waaaay to many variants to properly choose a turbo. There are also MANY turbos out there that spool pretty damn fast but put out great numbers.

I think the 16G-T28 turbos are great for the RoadRacing/Autocross feel. But the larger turbos feel absolutely outstanding when you drop into 3rd and just go on the highway. :thumb:
