Today I installed my Dejon UICP along with my GREDDY TYPE-S bov, and since everything was already taken apart, I decided to do the boost celenoid free mod. I went out for a test drive and now I spike 20psi, but drop to 10-12. Is this ok? I dont want to hurt the turbo, but I think it should be ok because Im not HOLDING 20psi..its just a short spike.

Thanks for the help

Well I've not seen anyone have that issue before, you sure everything is back on tight?
Boost spiking is fairly normal though and will not likely damage your turbo.

I've played around with this mod before and I decided I didn't like it. Just grab yourself a cheap $10 MBC off ebay. Thats where I got mine, no spiking just rock solid boost.

if you were goin to get a mbc and didnt want to use ebay you can also make one at like home depot for like 5 bucks haha

Im running the HD special my self. :thumb:

I've been considering doing this but I just wasn't sure how reliable it would be and if it holds boost, doesn't spike, etc. How do you like yours? Also, what directions did you use to make it? I saw a little tech article on here how to make one, but did you find a better one? Thanks, this isn't the first time you've helped me LOL

just be careful your t25 doesnt start spiking or holding boost higher than that, those turbos are small and generally cant take as much punishment as the 1gs 14b therefore you could shorten the life of it that way...

Its simple, you get 2 female threaded nipple ends, and a male/male cylinder. A spring and a small ball bearing.

In the Pic Below..

A.) Inlet female Nipple. The ballBearing (D) will rest up againt the sufrace like shown with the pressure from the spring ( RED ) there holding boost.
C.) Is the Male/Male cylinder. ( A ) and ( B ) Will thread in to ( C ) with the Ball at the front and spring behind.
E.) Is the bleeder hole (1/16) for when you let off the throttle. IF that hole wasnt there...the pressure would be captured in the rear of the MBC and line then your WG would be stuck open and it would take forever to spool.

Adjusting the MBC is easy first make sure when assembled both (A) and (B) are snug..maybe hand tight then one turn w/teflon tape. Go for a run..If your boost only reachers the stock 11-12 then tighten up (B) alittle more. That will make the spring ( RED ) push harder on the ball (D) so it will hold more boost pressure before getting pushed open. Take another run....this time you hit 15 and you want 19....tighten up Either (A) or (B) alittle bit and take another run. If you go to far back out either one a tad. Do this untill its set....just like anyother MBC. If you find you can lower boost no matter what...you spring is probably to long and always applying to much pressure even at the lowest setting. Just take it out and cut acouple coils off of it. GoodLuck.
