Hey everyone looking for some input on what to check. Boost leak test shows no leaks, but turbo not spooling up past vaccum. Drove fine last night after work, highway driving for 2 hours straight with all the boost. I hear the turbo start to spool and @ 3k rpm when it ought to be making boost @ 40% throttle it wasn't. When I let off the gas I hear a noise like a bearing, or a bad starter when it spins and then make a scratchy wobble sound. I have ECM link v3 installed and all sensors look good. Factory boost gauge shows no movement

Edit factory boost gauge moves as it should, koeo

Can I manually open the waste gate? Or do I need to open it up? It was all redone, resurfaced, new OEM studs, gaskets etc, and the only thing bad was a crack in the turbine housing that the machinist said is not an issue because it's not on the charge side. Now there was a small loose chunk in the housing that I pulled out, but it didn't make a hole in the housing and I couldn't see light through it

Wastegate needs to be closed to build boost.

Depends on where and how bad this crack is.

Please elaborate. If you have anything floating loose inside the turbo, that's bad and will more than likely ruin a turbo.

I would open it up and have a look. If you have a weird sound and no response from the turbo, that's worth investigating further. No amount of forum advise is going to solve the issue.

Hey Paul, I just did the boost leak test @ 35 psi, nothing leaked any where according to the soapy water, now could I hear any rushing air as I used to before I rebuilt the turbo 3k miles ago, have changed oil and filter 4times in 3k miles. When I looked at the compressor wheel I checked the nut, perhaps it looked up? Nope it was on there good, checked with a socket with like 1 pinky lb while I held the wheel with my finger. I'm in the car rn now and it's idling pretty good I need gas so I'm going up the street. Going to log the ride

Ok back from the gasrun. @3k rpm the turbo starts to vibrate no sense taking it off, I need a new one. You all had good query into the issue, I have 2 logs to look at, approximately 3 min each.

How do I get the log from ECM link to the forum?

You don't need tools to check the turbo. Just reach in and grab the compressor nut. Wiggle it up and down. It should have a tiny bit of radial play. Push it in and out. It should have no axial play. If you can feel it rubbing on anything it's bad.
I hate to say this but obviously this is with the car off.
Check and make sure wastegate is still connected. You have no profile so I can't tell if you have internal or external. I assume internal. The noise is the largest standout for me. Find it.

Paste the log up via the "Add Photos" button.

Here's a still shot , hope you can see it

Click on the add photo box and not insert photo. You an add the actual file and not a screenshot.

Please check the wastegate and the compressor and tell us what you find. I had a turbo die once and if I recall even the stock gauge flatlined at zero if I recall. Are you saying factory gauge goes to zero or doesn't move at all? I saw the KOEO comment.

At system check when you turn the key, the factory gauge moves to zero, when I crank it over it bottoms out and it will move if I pump the gas and rev it up but just barely. I have an aftermarket boost gauge and it is showing vacuum of -2 @ 3k rpm and up. Its at that moment I hear the turbo stutter, like it goes out of balance, and I'm getting a tiny bit of blue smoke if it idles too long

i cant figure out how to send the log file

maybe this?
