Proper boost leak test?

I noticed in another thread on main page one guy recommended picking up Boostpro.net : Products - Boost Leak Testers and I agree and am grabbing one HOWEVER, and I didn't want to clog up someone elses thread with questions, the site recommends doing the test from the turbo inlet

I would obviously ignore 1b since I need to check for leaks in those but will this work testing from the turbo? or should I hook it up to the LICP right where it hooks up to the turbo outlet.

also whats the adequate PSI for stock parts? I am assuming 7-8?

Connect the boost leak tester to the intake on the turbo and feed pressure into the system....you should be safe to put plenty of pressure in it just dont go to crazy.....stay below 20 to be safe!

Honestly, start it at the TB elbow to limit the amount of leaks you will be dealing with at the start. Use soapy water and spray EVERYTHING that sees any air. If you see bubbles there is a leak, if you hear hissing start spraying. Once those leaks are good, move it to the IC so you can pressurize that to make sure there aren't any leaking couplers or holes in the IC. Lastly move it to the turbo for a final check.

Pressurize to any number above what you will be running. You can pressurize up to 40psi if you like but if you aren't running it, don't bother. Don't forget to listen for air coming out of the oil cap and exhaust. If you have a bad check valve for the brake booster you will be leaking in the cabin as well.

Block off the MBC if you are using one and if you are on the stock BOV then you will be leaking out of that at around 12 psi.

It's not hard and it's the best regular PM you can do.

Yeah I forgot the soapy water idea that liquidx brought up it works great to pinpoint the leaks!!!
