I have access to a smoke machine that can check for vacuum leaks, will this machine give the same results as a boost leak test? If not can you show me a good guide to make one.

Thanks

Thanks for the guide but I would like to make one with a gauge on it so I don't have to worry about putting too much pressure in the system.

You can modify the $5 gauge so that you can install a gauge with it, or... you can simply turn the PSI down on your compressor that you'll be using when you do a BLT.

Above post beat me to the Post button.

I couldn't believe how many leaks I had on my car. I had to seriously crank my couplers to get them to seal and the most interesting leak was the seal on my turbo housing. It wouldn't even hold 4 PSI.

I couldn't find all the parts I need at my local stores so I might have to buy one online.

I purchased one offline with a gauge on it and it was the best thing I've bought for my car so far.

If you want to hear something interesting, i used a plastic foot from a couch and tapped it with an air compression fitting and threw a coupler on the thing and works like anything you can buy LOL.

That's believable. I think I heard someone use the end of a gatorade bottle to boost leak.

I used some pcv cement in there along with the clamp. First I applied purple primer and then cement. I got tired of the cap popping off at 30 psi!
