well bought a 1g eclipse gst. I drove it home and it had boost but not like I recalled my buddies dsm having. When I got home I realized the BCS had a nipple broke off. Would this cause the car to run approx. (factory gauge) -7 at idle and around 7 at full throttle? any help would be appreciated

No it is not correct. My talon is bone stock down to the factory gauge and mine was reading arround 12psi. If your in need of a BCS I have a few spares that are perfectly working with no broken or cracked nipples. You can have one if you need it still.

Thats not good. That means youve got a vac leak. But your boost is so low because the car ECU controls the stock boost levels. If it sees knock by by boost/timing and that means now power. But it cant control it if its broke. thats why when you remove it to hook up a boost controller you have to leave it connected and plugged otherwise the car will throw a CEL.

1g's dont through a CEL if you undo the BCS. But using your factory boost gauge isn't a good way to tell vacuum or boost as it is very inaccurate. For example my 1990 would be at a steady 10psi on aftermarket gauge, tapped to the fuel regulator on firewall, because thats what it was set to but the gauge in the dash (stock) would peg up to 14 when I was at WOT.

But grats on your new toy. Perform some basic maintence on it do a boost leak test replace vacuum lines, stuff like that and it will pull better.

Forgot to ad that the stock spring on wastegate is gonna let you boost to about 7psi, the BCS when hooked up and working right with the restrictor removed will let you boost to about 10psi, 12 on the high side usually.

So based on what and 44 said I will be okay eliminating the BCS and using a MBC in place of it?

If using a MBC you always bypass the BCS. Make sure you get a ball-and-spring style MBC and not those crappy bleeder style ones with those 3 way tees in them.
