i have a 97 gsx.. i just found out that my boost controller was broken it was a hallmen es, so i replaced it and got the hallmen pro.
my problem is that i turned the boost down and it holds at 14 psi.. but when i hit the gas all the way it goes all the way to 20 psi even more sometimes!
i did alot of research and found nothin that could really help me.....
i read a few things about it being a boost leak but im not sure what do you guys think....

my upgrades are a tail bov , intake, 16g turbo, 2.5 exhaust, hallmen pro bc, super afc.
i also have a new o2 housing that i just got that im goin to be puttin on very soon.

Are you sure that you have the new MBC hooked up correctly? Also, does the boost shoot up to 20+ quickly or does it slowly climb up there? This may be boost creep. Did your 16G control properly before your old MBC broke?

no its a actually big 16g evo 3 turbo..
i just got the car also and the mbc was already broke thats why i replaced it.
and it shoots up slowly, it holds at 14lbs but when i start hitting the gas more and more it starts to go up past the 14lbs. but its does hold for awhile.... i think its when i get around 5000 rpms is when it starts to go past!

ya thats what im hearing from everyone...
i just got a new o2 housing with a dump on it so im goin to see if that fixing anything... im just waitin on the bigger flange so i can hook it all up ill let you guys know if it fix's anything!

I'm having the same problem at the moment.. I've tried 2 different actuator and am having different results, one actuator just creeps and doesn't hold at all and the next the actuator isn't strong enough so the flapper blows open prematurely and takes forever to build boost and then once it does it creeps and when I shim the one that causes the flapper to blow up it creeps just like the first.. I'm stumped as well.

Whats your psi goal?

Get rid of the MBC for a minute. Take it off your car and run a hose directly from your boost source to the wastegate. See if it will still creep that way. If it does, then it's genuine boost creep, otherwise, it may just be a faulty MBC or MBC install.

Ok so I went and did that and I hit 14psi through all gears and in 4th gear I hit about 16psi and hit fuel cut.. Boost creep? :hellyeah:

i got my o2 dump put on yesterday! and it helped a little it holds the boost at 13 lbs where i got it set but when my rpms get to 5000 it starts to go up more and more!
