Boost Creep??

Ok can someone explain exactly what boost creep is, i search the post and couldnt find any good answers. I would like to know what it is, how its caused, how to prevent it, how to stop it, what happens when you have it, and how to tell whether it boost creep or not.

Long story made short:

If you have a 3" downpipe and no cat you can notice your boost going all the way let's say to 20 and then it comes back to normal.
People usually port out their o2 housing and trubine housing to solve the boost creep issue.

I see my boost creep from 13-15 sometimes but the only time i see it jump to twent is when the car backfires. Can boost creep cause backfiring?

I believe it can. My car is doing the same on my stock T25. I doubt it has anything to do with the downpipe since the turbo is too small. Boost leaks might be causing the problem so check for that.

Are you still running your stock T25?

Yea im sorry to say i still have the t25 for now. I have checked for boost leaks but i will do it again just incase. If i dont have boost leak how will i prevent my car from getting it when i get the evo 3 big 16g?

So if you port out your o2 housing you don't have to worry about the boost creeping??

Can a local muffler shop do it?
