Body Kit on a DSM ( no flaming )

body kits are blah on the eclipse.. . i had one on my rs a few years back and i sold it because i just didnt like taking care of it all the time. . u had to be careful everywhere you go. i have one in my storage that i was going to put on my gst but havent hadf the money to paint it. personalluy a good paint job will make your car look smokin. the kit i have is the white one gofer put. i think its the best out of all of them. and yes it is fiber glass. .

If you want to upgrade your exterior aesthetics without some ridiculous looking body kit, try looking for Stillen front bumpers. Basically a "warped" stock 2g bumper, with front grill opened farther, molded fog light bezels(per say), and a small lip. All molded from polyurethane, and is paint-able. :D

If you decide on a kit, paint the car as it is, save your bumpers and stock parts and have it painted to match the car. That way when you get tired of being torched by everyone and you step back and look at the split, cracked, droopy pos you wasted you hard earned cash on you'll be able to return the car to all it's splendorous glory. This is only my opinion. No offense intended

Body kits add 10mph to your trap speeds and handle a gajibillion times better for autox...just saying.

If you want to go with a body kit that looks pretty sweet and is actually functional ask Andrew Brilliant to make you one of his kits, just be prepared to drop 5k on it.

+1 The only body kit I'd get is gixxerdrew's. It's the best looking I've ever seen AND, according to him, functional.

gst racer has a body kit.. so why cant u??

You mean he has sideskirts a lip and rear bumper, Plus a billion HP and Tq to back it up.
Think before you post, It's not a body kit. Plus the op can do whatever he wants to his car, Hence the reason he has not posted on this thread lately.
Prob outside installing the unpainted body kit as we speak... :|

ROFL.

He has also mentioned in the past that he doesnt like the body kit. The car came with it and he got rid of the front bumper for an OE one not long ago.

Okay so he has 3/4 of a body kit haha. Still a body kit with a aftermarket wing might i add. Ever look at the older pics of his car he had a full on kit. I think that car is amazing in my opinion i wish i owned it. I would rock that even if it had 300hp its just beautiful all because he knew how to make a car look good using parts from body kits. His car is a testament to all who want to make a car unique and tasteful.

On another note gixxerdrew takes his car to the next level with body modifications i wish i had a inch of that skill.

To the OP i say its your car if you like the ricer look do it tasteful or you will get a ton of shit. Dacowgod on here makes 585 awhp and his car is body kitted hard core no one ever says anything to him.

Yes aftermarket wing that does the car justice. If I remember correctly gstracer was planning on changing the rear bumper. He bought the car with the body kit and swapped the front bumper to OEM. I agree, His car is amazing but he did not personally buy the kit and put it on.
Unique and tasteful with power to back it.

Gixxerdrew has an amazing kit that HE designed and is actually intended to increase aerodynamics unlike any bodykit on the market.

585 AWHP! Power to back man! Power to back!

Body kits o Aero kits they are the same besides one has function and the other doesn't. As far as flaming I don't think the community would flame drew and his spyder so why flame others?

as long as its clean and done right it won't look terrible
just make sure you don't cut your corners when you do you body kit/suspension or you'll really get flamed

yeah i was going to put that kit but i sold it.. needed the money. honestly i like it. . i was going to mold mine the same way you molded yours.. but i need to fix more things than make the outside look good.

To be honest, body kits to me are okay on one condition. They must be put together the right way(flowing, lines matching, etc). Other than that you are good to go. Here is a pic of some of our 2gs. They can look good just by new paint job and stock oem body parts. But for some reason I always had an itch to do a wide body kit on a 2g. Maybe you should try a widebody?! haha
