Body Kit on a DSM ( no flaming )

body kits should cost well over $500..Your going to need the pieces or your whole car painted, I dont see what looks so bad about a stock eclipse/talon?? Add your rims, lower it, take the wing off or whatever floats your boat. Have you seen STM's stock block talon??

I hope just this picture changes your mind.

What type of rims are on this? I've been searching with no results.

Also i like the body kit that Geofer posted. And it seems your more into the looks so buying coilover probably wont be an option for you. So i'd get some cheap springs and call it a day.

Before you start hating on me for this post, I want to say that to each their own, if I happen to like the look of body kits leave me alone :)

Opinions are like assholes...

I just wanted to ask a simple question, whats a good body kit for a 99 Eclipse GS-T that won't hinder performance much?

None of them.

What kind of prices am I looking at?

Outrageous prices.

and I plan on lowering the suspension: How much does that usually cost?

Tein kits are really good, Really depends on how much you plan to spend. Have a target amount you would like to spend and shop accordingly. Take into account getting an alignment, people sometimes forget to add that in to the total cost.

And seriously with the no flaming comment, cry and get over it. You asked a question that you obviously knew you are going to get some smart ass answers with. People will post what they want, Just skip the ones that start out flaming. :)

The body work looks clean. Not a fan of the Blitz sides and rear, and you need to get something to close in those wheel wells.

neither was i actually.. we cut the sides down so they not as big nd bulky but made it fit nicely to the body w.o molding it like everyone tends to... rear was too open so we added down to it to get rid on that up skirt look. but hey it works. gotta admit it pretty clean for it being a kit

ops and yeaa wheel wells.. i said the same.. i hade 19's but was too much wheel. felt sluggish. but i was planning on lowering it too. not to much. ### where i live but just to reduce that gap.. i hate it

I don't know anything about body kits. But, Tokico spring/strut sets are under $600 with a lifetime warranty.

i have a set of these on my car (95 tsi), lowered it 1 5/8" - 1 3/4". i got them from a dealer off ebay for $530 shipped

My opinion is no go on the body kit

Im more into the cleaner, lower stance, and clean wheels look.

I like the stock look no kits, I think fast and furiouse killed it, we alrady get enough ridicule because of that green nightmare....I have jic magic flt-tars, a little pricey, and some dont like them for thier hard ride but, I dig them.

Do a lip. My buddy had one on his GS-T and I looked hott. It still kept the integrity of the car too.

That is a beautiful car, thats what Im talking about why would you want to change that:confused:

let me start by saying, that yes to eash is there own....i run a bodyshop and let me tell you,for performance, bodkits are a no-no,BUT if you keep it simple and use lightwieght matierials you will be ok,stay AWAY from anything fiberglass....

I HATE body kits!!!!
:banghead::banghead::banghead: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :f-u: :f-u: :f-u: :f-u: :f-u: :mad: :mad: :mad: :barf::barf::barf:

But on a more serious note, just lower it and get a lip, body kits arent cool, wasted money if you ask me. :mrt:

If you want to go with a body kit that looks pretty sweet and is actually functional ask Andrew Brilliant to make you one of his kits, just be prepared to drop 5k on it.

No flaming on this site we give our opinons if asked, thats what happens when you start a thread, i wanted a kit a long a time ago on my 1ga non turbo, but no i love the stock look. Been in too many accidents with cars to take a chance on my body kit getting damaged, and have to start all over again and i know whats involved in paint and body work. No kits for me maybe a lip but thats about it. Always wanted the clean look but if you like it go for it, thats all that matters always someone that doenst like something about you or your car, enjoy it.

Did you decided yet OP. Just saw this thread pop up and decided to check in.
Honestly I haven't seen any kit I like for the 2g. There was a silver gsx in town that was able to pull off the bomex look. But remember... with great body kits come great rims. Meaning body kits on stock rims equals no no!
Good Luck! Not so much flaming as I expected. I guess people here are maturing some how, or evolving!
