OK...first of all I have all stock internals. Top end has been redone, but not built. The rest is self explanitory. Oh yeah I have a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD.

S-AFC
AMS - 680cc
Walbro 255lph
Ported exhaust manifold
2.5" intercooler piping
FMIC
Greddy Type S BOV
TurboXs dual boost controller
DeJon Tool intake with K & N
stock MAS w/o the 3 honeycombs and screw set flush
full 3" exhaust w/o cat
Garret GT3257/internal gate
Magnacore 10.8 MM wires
Ported stock O2 housing

So the question is, am I gonna blow my car up with spring?

I have other stuff done but nothing peformance engine wise.

Thoughts?

Oh yeah I haven't got it on the road yet so I can't offer the PSI but Im gonna play with it. I will probably run 15-18.

"Blowing up" an engine has everything to do with the tune you apply to your setup. Many people have run some very higher numbers on stock internals with a good tune. Detonation and pre-ignition are the things that melt pistons and snap rods causing catastrophic engine failure, not just a certain peak cylinder pressure. As long as you have enough fuel support and you keep your a/f ratios where they need to be, things will be fine. The GT3257 is a fairly big turbo so your margain for error is less than most. I would pickup a logger or wideband O2 sensor (or both) to give yourself some feedback as where to start tuning.

You cant just guess when your cars going to blow. I just happens. Keep the oil changed and hope for the best.

Thanks guys. I know that sh*t happens, and engines blow, I was more curious in if I was doing to much to a "stock" engine.

Nice link. Thanks, but ummm hehe does that mean I should kiss my engine good bye?

DSMs have been known to make 400Hp off of the stock internals, but it is pushing them. And as far as the boost level, it will be fine but the key is having it tuned properly, otherwise a similar fate will happen to your DSM as the one on the dyno. So the key is tuning, tuning and make sure it is done properly. if you do that you should be ok.
