I'm pretty sure its the blower fan but want to get opinions. When using the a/c or heat, the vents make a whining noise. It gets louder as increase the setting from low to high. It seems to be louder when using a/c or the cool air setting than when using the heater. No, the noise doesn't increase with RPMs. Both heat and a/c blows hot/cold air respectively. So, does it sound like a blower issue? Is this something easy to get to or should be handed to a pro?

Mine makes noises as well, but only when i have it on high. Sounds kind of like a whistling. But my blower motor is in perfect health.

Only thing i can think of for mine is there is an obstruction somewhere in the vents that causes it. If it blows air, and blows a fair amount of air, i doubt you have much to worry about.

If you start hearing metal on metal noises, blowing fuses, etc then i would start checking it out.

Hmmm, funny you mentioned about the obstruction. It only started happening after I did my stereo install, but i didn't run any wires through the glovebox, just under it in the floor. I'm assuming the blower is behind glove box?

Mine, you can starting hearing a liitle bit in the second setting, louder third, and very loud by high.

Yes the blower is behind the glove box area of the dash. It is a pain in the ass to get to in any car i've ever had to replace it in.

If i remember correctly, that's when my noise started as well. And if i remember correctly there are foam type gaskets on the back of the center console bezel with the vents that seal it to them, probably have a rip in one and that's probably whats causing it.

Check to see if you can pinpoint which vents its coming from, mine is from the middle vents only, which is what made me think about that.

Pinpointed to be the vents on both doors. When I have the door vents open, no noises, but when the vents are closed, noises. I stock like a brush through the door vents to see if there were any obstructions, but didn't find anything...weird  . Oh well, I guess I just have keep those vents open.

The door vents have a gasket on the inside of the door that seals them to the dash also, open the doors, run the air and see if the noise is still there. If not your gaskets aren't sealing well and you found your culprit :thumb:
