What does that have to do with anything?

other than the fact that I said I know of another person who is having problems with the SAME TURBO, and his has less than 3,000 miles on it too... Not much

but it has a hell of alot more to do with the topic at hand than either one of your posts, so quit trying to judge!

I am sure of you go on PTE's site they will show how to go about warranty

sorry to hear about the bum luck. To get your turbo to PTE you have to get it back to the vendor you purchased it from and they have to go from there. Once you get it back to the Vendor they have to ship it to PTE with their invoice for it and then you are left out of the whole deal until PTE decides what they are going to do.

Best of luck to you.

So, are you applying that PTE turbos are not any good? I hope not... they've been around longer than you have probably been alive.

Are you kidding me? Did you read what I wrote? I was asking him to clarify why he though he "blew up his turbo." There was no relevant information in the original post whatsoever. He could have blew an intercooler pipe off for all we know...

See, you should have said that in the first place... now that's helpful!

If it makes anyone feel better i recently installed my turbo and it was ####ed within a min of starting the car :thumb: I did all the installtion right just that there was something wrong and it had been recently sent out to have new seals, and i was told the seals were ok. So after about week #3 i may be getting my turbo back if i pay 375$.

Mine went on me aswell. Cost me $475 for a new 20G TDO6H center section.

THere are 2 things that cause failure MOST of the time.

Oil Starvation and Oil contamination...both of which would void your warrenty if you tried to determine which one it was on your own. They require the dissasemlement of the turbo to figure it out.

Mine happened from either a spark plug element or EGT probe tip going through the turbine causing it to go out of balance and therefore blowing the seal.

Sooooo...... you are S.O.L. until you send it back and they tell you if it was a problem on your end or theirs. After talking to "B" vendor about my problem (not the turbo vendor I purchased it from) they have had maybe 2 of the last 300 sum odd turbos come back from a balancing problem on thier end.

(This is in the wrong section)

Yep oil contamantion is what mine went down for but how it happened i don't know. So when i get it back im going to make sure everything is perfect and clean.

I am going with an inline filter. That cost less than the $475 centersection anyday.

out of the many PTE turbos we have sold, one has come back, which was due to metal shavings found in the center section. I personally recommend a filter for a feed line. it isnt always recommeneded on a turbo that isnt Dual BB but it is really more of a preventative maintenance. Again not needed but never a bad idea.
