HELP! MMCD Locking-up

Recently bought a cable off Ebay for a laptop, (the one that has the connector to plug directly into the diagnostic port). After I bought the cable, I decided to run the MMCD software on a Palm M100 with OS3.5 instead of a laptop with other software. I bought the null modem adapter to get the cables to fit together. Everytime I try to run it, my palm locks up. I can start the car it it will turn on my palm and launch the MMCD software but then freezes. I have heard that the laptop cables and the Palm cables only need a null modem adapter, but have also heard you need to swap a few pins in the connector that plugs into the diagnostic port as well as using the null modem adapter. Can someone please clear this up for me or have an suggestions or past experiences. Thanks in advance.

Well mine used to lock up sometimes but all I did was just delete the MMCD program and re-install it. The problem also might be in your cable. If you re-install the MMCD and it dont fix anything then try ordering a different cable. Usually the cheapies off of ebay are just that, cheap.
