Well I just got home from the Gulfporty Dragway where my engine bottom end took a dump. The block is shattered in 3 places with pieces of rods stuck into everything imaginable. The cause of this? The ball/spring adjustment bolt vibrated out of my SBR MBC. This allowed to boost to spring up to crazy levels upon takeoff. What happens when you run 40 psi with stock fuel system? The pictures will show once I upload them tonight. Has this been an issue with anybody else? Not blaming SBR but I ###### did not tighten the jam nut enough. I need to head off and make sure it is still good. Just wondering if this MBC problem ever arose to anybody else.

After boosting at 40 psi once your engine blew? Or was it multiple times? I didn't even know the 14b could go up to 40 psi.

When you run 40 psi with the stock fuel system you will run really lean and probably knock a bunch too. I would've expected the head to lift though, or something to melt.

I might have to call bs on this one. You should have hit fuel cut before the engine blew, this is the cars way of saving itself. If the mbc did vibrate loose, and you ran full boost the car's ecu should have seen way too much air and would have shut down.

Ok my boost gauge goes up to 30 psi then goes alittle more then pegs. It was pegged. It hit fuel cut about 3 times real real fast and blew before I could shut it down. How can you call bs when I'm holding the rod cap all bent and scraped up in my hands. I pulled it from one of the 3 holes in the block.

Well, Hallman boost controllers are designed "differently" to prevent that exact problem from occurring. So it must happen sometime. Are you going to swap in a 6-bolt now?

I had thought about that. I have a set of 1g big rods laying around. I am going to pick up a new truck next week I hope so the DSM habit might have to go....... FOR NOW! Once I move up to Baton Rouge I plan on tracking a 1g AWD. I just wanna get a new 7 bolt in and sell it. The ball is still in the MBC I just need a new spring and bolt with nut. SBR if you read this can you give me a price for these pieces?

So the SBR boost controller essentially blew your motor, and you want peices to replace the ones that are missing...

wtf?

Yea I feel that there is nothing wrong with the SBR MBC just the fact that I only fingered tightened the jam nut. If you want to send me a Halman do it and I'll use it haha. There is a complete 7 bolt on ebay in Mississippi for 510 right now. Might go pick it up in a day or two.
