big16g ticking noise

I bought a TD05H from one guy on classifieds. He said it was in good cond. and only 2k on it. No shaft play. Once i got it, i tried to spin the wheel by hand and it makes this ball baring sound(ticking). Is it suppoused to be like that or is there something wrong with it?
Sorry fo noob question but it's my first 16g turbo.

I've never heard of one making that sound. Take the turbine housing off of it (just remove the band clamp in the middle and pull the turbine housing away from the center) and see if that reveals anything. If not, you may have to remove the compressor housing, which is a little more involved.

could possibly be the fins hitting the sides of the housing...possibly
