Whats up guys. I just got finished installing my big16g on my 2g and i noticed i was overheating alot. my coolant is filled. Wat else could be causing this? I also noticed that at 10psi on my big16 its not much faster then my t25 at 17psi. Wats causing all of this? :dsm:

Go back and check all water lines and make sure that there are no kinks or leaks in the system. If you have a kinked water line, than you will definately overheat a little bit. Just wondering, have you replaced you waterpump recently? if not than i would do so very soon. Also, is your big 16 ported, you are able to turn the boost up, on my evo16, i ported the turbo and the manifold and I am boosting at 21 psi, you have to crank it up to get power. Dont turn it up too much. make sure you do it right and good luck.

Like he said, check for kinks and boost leaks. I thought the wastegate on the 16g produced lowest 12psi unless you are leaking boost.

Did you burp the system sounds like an airpocket. That would also let you see the tstat open and make sure the fans are working correctly. After thaqt its just a step by step process.. I did have bad bearings in my old waterpump one time though.

after you check for kinks in the cooling system, you can replace your thermostat, and all of the other cooling system parts such as water pump. good luck

After I installed mine, my car kept overheating too. Replaced the thermastat in the radiator and fixed the problem. But also check for air bubbles in coolent, that might do it also.

real stupid question possibly here but its worth a shot. when you installed your b16g did you end up only putting 1 cooling fan back in? i have IC pipes and was not able to use the pass side cooling fan (have slimline fans now). my car would run pretty hot if let idle for a while. just an idea. also your b16g at 10 psi will not be much faster than a t-25. when you safetly turn the boost up (supporting mods) to say 20 PSI you will notice a world and a half difference. it never hurts to take the 10 minutes and check for boost leaks.

You can check the thermostat by allowing your car to reach operating temperature and feel the upper radiator hose. If the hose is hot, then coolant is being passed into the engine through the thermostat. If the hose is cold, Replace the thermostat. Also, Make sure you top off the cooling system through the radiator cap not the overflow tank.

Thanks guys. I did have a boost leak and i was told it was the waterpump by turbo trix. It should be getting put in by 2morrow. Thanks alot everyone
