Where can i find one? prefer new but used will work as well. Any help is appreciated.

No one that i know of any longer makes or sells them!
I've been wanting one for a while, keeping my eye out for one on eBay, CL, and the classifieds but nothing.
The Supra SMIC is on option I had given a bit of thought, but looking at all the write ups, it scares me to think it might look so ugly.

Alamo is the company that comes to mind when I think of replacement sidemounts. Keep an eye out for an Alamo sidemount. Good luck!

Edit:

This is the 1G Alamo kit, but you get the idea..

Geez! not promising. Ive been looking called Bullseye and he no longer makes them.

The few aftermarket smic's that I've seen on ebay and in the classifieds sold for more money than a fmic. Any reason you don't want a fmic? You might have luck contacting dejon tools and see if they will make one for you. They used to sell a smic using 2 stock cores a while back. I've personally used a supra sidemount before and it worked great. If you trim and tweak it right its barely noticeable behind the bumper.

Dejon tools old school smic

If I recall they might even have sold an aftermarket smic using a single spearco core. I may be wrong though its been a while LOL

Small bulge in the fender...little else in the way of appearance.

I tried to find a SMIC a while back to avoid getting my car stolen or broken into but I honestly couldn't find jack. The Supra side mount didn't really seem worth the effort in the end.

If you find something I'm sure there are more of us who'd like to know.

"Worth it" how? I went mid-11s on a SMIC setup. The minor bulge and hot-lap heatsoak at the strip are your only real drawbacks.

When you guys speak of the fender bulge what are you talking about? I want it to be as stock (looking) as possible. Edit/ after vfaqing? the Suprasmic. Screw that SHit!

Note the slight outward push on the SMIC side. It's really not noticeable if you aren't looking for it.

Edit: Man, I do not miss the look of my car from back then. (not SMIC related...just generally)

Its not the fender that bulges, it's the part of the bumper where the smic goes may bulge a bit!
But then i've seen a write up where the lower pipe is hanging 2 inches from the ground, which scares me. Hit a nice bump and there goes your intercooler!
I've been really thinking about the Supra myself, but for the price i've been seeing the smic's going for i haven't jumped on it. (that and the bulge thing)

My piping barely dipped. I used truck rad hose.

The bottom of my FMIC is lower and far less forgiving than rubber piping.

Alot of people dont understand that down here is HOT as Balls! We had 60 straight days of 100+ this summer. A/c is crucial so is heat management. So the smic is for me the best choice.

In that case a bigger smic isn't going to be very efficient with all that heat. You might want to look into meth/alcohol injection :thumb:

If you get a fmic and it gets too hot from the inadequate airflow, then you'll probably need a bigger radiator and some different fans. And also probably some cutout work on the bumper. I live in northern California, so i get the best of both worlds. A real cold winter and an extremely hot summer. We see plus 100 degree days too. So, what i did was get a koyo aluminum radiator some spal fans and cut some holes in my bumper to help cool some air. With a fmic, the stock radiator is just too small, if you are running a big core.

Again for the smic, if still desired, just keep looking the forums or jump on a supra. Honestly, the fmic would be cheaper, but if you have to buy the radiator and others, they could come out to the same in value. you just need to find a good supra core. Good luck.

Exactly and my power goal is right around 280-300 whp. A SMIC will be more than adequate for that power level.
