Where to buy Dejon SMIC?

Very interesting. I was just thinking the other day how I would like to keep my SMIC without using the Supra Side mount intercooler and having to go through all of the hassle. I've read the how-to and although its functional, and many improvements can be made to make it look ALOT better. Something simple and easier to install would be nice to have.
:dsm:

There kinda obsolete now. Look on supra forums for a side mount. Or use the stock one just clean it and shake it up with gasoline. Best bet get a vrsf fmic for like $300. VRSF 2G DSM Front Mount Intercooler Kit FMIC : 95-99 Eclipse & Talon Turbo 2G DSM - Intercooler Kits - Forced Induction - Performance I know you want sleeper but I did to until ETS ruined my day I went in to ask for a customer 1g side mount intercooler for my 1g. They said they to busy making gtr stuff. I just figured it take them like a few hours whip up a simple nice side mount. Oh well keep looking you will find something. You can always do black anodized on the intercooler to make it stealth look like people do with the ets intercoolers.https://www.google.com/search?q=black+anodized+intercooler&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USOMGfficial&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=sRtJUfDSEcbliwKAyIHYCA&biw=1885&bih=916&sei=sxtJUZiTG6aRiALYtYH4Cw Might reduce heat transfer but if just going for 300hp then it's still better then a smic.

If you are going for a factory look pick up a evo front mount...you can always paint it black also to help hide it

That is an option if he wanted a fmic but you can paint any fmic to hide it to try to make the car look factory. Plus evo intercoolers just look hidious on a Dsm.

Try craigslist, I've heard of a couple people getting some there. They are scarce these days but well wroth it. It fits (Dejon) perfectly and cools nicely. Just make sure if you're doing the SMIC set-up to incorporate a duct. That's the only way you'll get what you need out of it.

what do you mean by that? i was hoping to cut the factory air duct and use some fiber glass to make it fit the bigger intercooler. it would look just like stock.

And i'm not a big fan of fmics, i mean, they look great in some builds , but that's not what i'm looking for.

About craiglist, i'm from brazil and i'm having trouble finding one there. Of course i would pay for all shipping costs if i found one.

I'll trade my Supra IC.You just swap the end tank and get some couplers for the stock piping.Cut a little bit of sheet metal.Boom.

I just want to adress some posts here.A fmic does not,"look" stock on a dsm,or even is stock so people can stop saying its stock looks stock, cause it's NOT.

I never said it does. I said TRY because it doesn't look stock

Well although you could do that, you'll lose airflow because of the opening and the way it was designed (the Dejon SMIC will be thicker and wider which means you need to cut a section out just to take the depth addition and then again to accomodate the surface area). You're not left with much material. I did mine all out of fiberglass with the addition of a duct from another model. Belive me when I tell you it takes up ALL the area near the wheel well. Just check my picture gallery, shows you the extent of the size http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/browseimages.php?do=member&imageuser=102486.

As for the search use this: Craigslist Search Engine: Easily Search ALL of Craigslist it searches ALL craigslist for what you want. Then, if you find it, ask the seller if he'll ship your way.

Thanks for the links man!

wow this smic is really huge, and now i see what you meant.
I did find a Hahn smic for sale on craigs list, whats the difference between the two?
but the add is expired....

Anyway, there's a third option which is to make a custom made smic, i would spend about $400 here in brazil for that.

sounds expensive but a fmic would be even more because of the shipping!

To give you an idea I made a comparison picture a while back:

In order (each with the stock 2g for comparison) Dejon/Hahn/Dejon/ADFX

The only thing the picture doesn't show is the depth of each (which obviously is bigger than the stock by a fair amount)

Earlier this winter/last year i was in contact with a few of our vendors. And also a few online folks i contacted to build a smic for our cars..But they were really not interested because fmics are easy to get and install. And also a one off ic is gonna cost bank..So unless there is some sort of group buy,its not worth it to get one made for one car.

thanks for the info!
dejon's seems to be bigger than the hahns, do you think they can handle the same amount of power?

I've ran the Hahn, Dejon and the Bullseye SMIC they can pretty much all handle the same power. I personally thought the Dejon and Bullseye were made better in terms of size and fitment. The Bullseye was also chromed to avoid the metal getting corroded. Dejon is a great but heavy piece. If you duct it properly it's incredibly good at cooling. The Hahn was good but I wasn't big on it because it's made horizontally not so much vertically. With mine I use the bottom of the front bumper to grab air and bring it up, having a SMIC that is long vertically helps in that respect. It can still handle the power you want but the Dejon is better. Make sure that whichever you buy you clean out with gas or something to get any oil residue out so that it's as efficient as can be. Worst case scenario, if you ever want very big power, just add water injection and call it a day ;)

He's got a guy that can do it for him already if you had read his posts. Besides, we're not talking getting a FMIC here at all, as the OP posted that's not an option. If you really want to build one cheap, get a Supra SMIC and get the end tanks made of aluminium and WELDED to the core. I've seen it done and it's definitely worth it and fits better than just moving the the end tanks. There are tons of ways to avoid a FMIC, you just have to think. For daily driving with rocks hitting the front, idling in traffic with air flow blockage to the radiator and the simple fact that it brings too much attention to yourself, the FMIC isn't worth it in my mind, specially for a fun DD.

Yes I seen hes got a guy that can do it.But 400 bux come on.

I'm not a fmic guy persay, but if you black the beotch out..:hellyeah::rocks:

Bring attention to myself.I drive a yellow coupe bro..Although I do tell people who ask its just an auto fwd car.Nothin special.Almost as soon as people hear automatic, they tend to start walking away..LOL
