One thing in this world, small things usually get a premium price over big things. That's just a fact ;)

Besides not everyone wants a FMIC. I have two stored in my garage which I'll probably never use because I love the SMIC for what it is. What one values might not be the same as another. Some people are prepared to dish out 300$ for weather stripping, some do it for SMICs. It's a question of what you want and how hard it is to get.

I have one spare, but that one I'm keeping simply because I have a 2g Autocross project I'm starting soon and that will go in that 2g. Since they are harder to come by than the car itself, when I found one I bought it and figured I'd buy the car after. Almost have enough $$ for another 2g for that particular purpose, so as you can expect, I'm keeping the spare for that car. The Bullseye I made fit in the 1g I have and the Hahn I sold a while back.
 
If you can't find one, black BBQ paint is always good at hiding an FMIC ;) It would probably stick out a little more on a white car. But if you have a 2ga front end it hides it pretty well. And if you hide the end tanks, most people will think it's just radiator

I know $400 is a lot, but everything is very expensive here in Brazil, we don't have an aftermarket industry like you guys do.

That's why i import almost everything, i can't even find a fuel filter around here!
Problem is the shipping costs, somethings are just too big.

Anyway, i have a 2gb front, and i think a fmic looks nice in it, but i'm a bigger fan of the sleeper look.

Do you think the stock 2g smic with water/alcohol injection could get to 300whp without knock?

Well that will also depend on if you have the supporting mods to get there in the first place (turbo/injectors/tune etc) but you will be able to get there with water/meth injection. Granted, if I go by your initial statement that this still being used as a DD; you'll be fine. Just know that after a couple pulls the SMIC will heatsoak and you'll have to drive it slow for the air to cool it off. You can either use the injection before, after or before and after the SMIC with two nozzles. The downside is having to fill the reservoir each time and making sure the system performs correctly (not staying on filling the engine -> hydrolock, or not working and not delivering the liquid it needs to). Just know that adding water/meth injection does add more thing that can go wrong and that will require your attention.
 
I myself have been looking for a decent option for a smic. So far not coming across anything good. Ill be sure to share when I find something.
 
yeah, for 300 hp i would probably go with an evo 3 16g, walbro 255, afpr, need bigger injectors, dsm link, etc.

i do know the correct way to make the upgrades, and one of my friends is great mechanic, he also has an eclipse.

we only have like 40 2g awd here in brazil, its quite a rare car.
and all gsx here are 2ga, 2gb eclipses only showed up as gst.
no gs or rs too.
that's why it's so hard to find any spare pieces
