I have a built 2.3 stroker, 35r, and everything needed to keep it together. I just got rid of AEM EMS as I plan to go back to DSM link.

In my evo I was running stock ecu and tuning with ecuflash. I had 280's i/e in the evo and even with the tune the ecu would sometimes throw a cel - multiple cylinder misfire - which was derived from the cams.

In the dsm I am running 288's i/e. Even with AEM it was still a bit tricky to control (idle), however herein lies my question.. In the meantime (i.e. until link arrives), what am I looking at running a stock 97 ecu with such a setup?

If you plan on discussing how I will "blow" my engine please keep your comments to yourself. I am strictly using the car for transportation. NO BOOST!

Let me restate the question - Has anyone ran stock ecu with cams? If so, how big of a cam and what were the effects? Did the car run "normally". I assume there will be idle problems but other than that, the car is drivable?

I actually read somewhere online, cant remember where, that 288's are not intended to be ran on stock ecu's. I don't think the stocker could handle it because it would be such a rough idle and throwing tons of misfire codes.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try to see if I can find some more info on that.

I run 272's in my 2g. I vary occasionally the the cel for a multiple misfire. Aside from that and some difficulty driving in parking lots at low speeds, im fine. You probably will be too.

Thanks Alex, that was just what I was waiting to hear.
