Dont bother installing with out supporting mod's. You wont get out anything near what you should out of the turbo. Get your fuel system/exhaust/tuning/gauges/etc down before doing something like that. You can make 300 hp on 16g's all day long.

I'd max your turbo out before even upgrading. I'd rather go fast with a small turbo then go slow with a big turbo, Which seems like MOST people are doing anymore. You can run 12's or very low 13's high 12's in your car with a boost controller, racegas, unbolted exhaust, fuel pump.

Like I said before, Everyone wants a bigger turbo. It's not cool to have a ''stock'' turbo on the car.. Even though alot of people are running stock turbo's and are running faster then alot of the guy's with bigger turbo's. It's a shame.

well people say that the 14b has no high end power. And i also dont feel a pull in high rpms

That is why i want a the big 16g turbo from the evo but ive been also looking at the small 16g turbo

Will the small 16g produce more hp than the big 16g with basic mods.

isnt smaller better not a lot of turbo lag :p

You're not feeling the car pull because you do not have any mods. When you put a 16g on, It'll be even slower. Get the supporting mods, And you'll see a huge difference on that stock turbo. I'd at least getting the supporting mods, And at least get into the 12's, Before you upgrade your stock turbo. If you don't, It's a waste of money... Especially if your stock turbo is in decent condition.

I am running the 14b on my talon. I have all supporting mods minus fuel injectors so I am only running 13psi also because I dont have a boost controller. Car runs low 13's at about 105mph. I cant wait to get injectors and a big turbo, but my car is ready for a big turbo, dont jump into it too fast.

Aight then ill do my supporting mods first

Same here, I ran a 13.0 @ 106mph my first time ever racing, And I was spinning all 4 through 1st gear. Stock injectors, No fuel control or anything to tune with, No cam's, Etc etc etc. Some guy just ran 12's with a stock sidemount and everything also. It's somewhere on the board, I was reading it the other day. :sneaky:

Just make sure you have the fuel mod's to support the B16G, or else you will be on here a week after the install asking why you felt the 14B pull harder.

190lph walbro, 550's,SAFC,FMIC,full exhaust,DP

A good tune, 20 psi, and with AWD shouldn't be too hard to see high 12s with that setup.

Good luck. :thumb:

And without the fuel mods you'll be asking why there is a big hole in one of your pistons!

cool

I was wondering if i bought a bigger fuel pump than the 190 i was thinkin like for th 255 i think that is.

Wont i be running rich if i get the 255 high pressure? Or will it only allow wut the ecu want it to push?

what is also the difference between the

big 16g

Evo III Big 16g turbo

These two turbos have diff prices so let me know please

The Evo III has a better flowing compressor wheel and a redesigned exhaust housing that is less prone to cracking.

Get the Evo III, but make sure it isn't the Evo III GT. The GT isn't made by Mitsubishi, it is a copy of the Evo III, but they made some compromises in the flow of the compressor.

allegedly.

Well thats funny, my friend has a 2g with boost controller 2.5" turboback hks ssq and manual boost controller, oh and injen filter, well he has almost my setup. He just threw on a 16g from a t-25 and he is at 12 pounds and he has alot of trouble gripping in first gear and its pulls way harder than his old factory turbo, and whores hit friend on a 14b with fuel pump? .. I mean i would guess he has some mods but no fuel whatsoever.

Theres a BIG difference between a 16g and a t-small :rocks:

I have super 16g turbo with 255 pump, greddy catback, injen intake, mbc, gauges, 1g bov. automatic tranny. Even with these mods (and more in my profile) im slow througout 1st gear, even when 2nd gear hits and boost comes it really isnt fast at all, i got beat by a stock 350z yesterday. I dont know what to do. Im guessing i NEED injectors, downpipe, FMIC ,and safc to get anything out of this slow pos. This awd isnt doing shit with this turbo, its as slow (or slower) than a civic from a start. Hell, my car creeped to 21psi the other day after being in 16psi and it felt the same (21 and 16psi) guess my car just cant handle the 16g yet

Surely, if you were driving a manual transmision, there wouldnt be a problem keeping up with a Z.

Of course you need the injectors and the SAFC to take advantage of the bigger fuel pump.

How many lbs of boost are you currently running?

You might consider not buying a name brand exhaust. It seems like you are under money constraits. Buying cheaper exhaust parts or having a shop fab something up for you for half the price is just as good as the GREDDY catback or whatever you were considering. You also wont make anymore power on the greddy over something cheaper like an exhaust shop will make for you.

This will help you save up the money for injectors/fuel pump/tuning stuff.

Super 16G as in the one that Hahn Racecraft sells? I wouldn't run one of those if they paid me to.
