Ok I finally got my car to 12psi and all ready to roll. I I got on the highway and I nail it and it accelerated awsome but didnt know me bcaki in my seat. My smart ass ford friend said it doesnt have the knock you back in the seat my stocker had. I hope this is the problem....is there a gasket that goes on the ic pipe that bolts to the turbo outlet?? other wise Im lost as for why its doing this. It seems to pull hard as hell on low end pulls but by 4.5k it looses the "pin you in the seat effect". I need help asap Im trying to get some track time in soon. Thanks
Andrew

Possible reasons for this, besides the gasket (which I bet isn't the problem):

1) This turbo is larger and boost comes on more smoothly. There won't be as much of a "neck-snapping" effect when boost hits.

2) Tuning. You're flowing more air now and really need to tune the car to get the most out of it. If you're only running 12 PSI, turn it up if you have the fuel mods in order to do so. This turbo really comes alive at higher boost.

3) Boost leak somewhere other than the compressor outlet.

4) Did you port match the head to the 1G intake mani?

My guess is #2.

The only leak I have (so far detected) is the outlet gasket. I have been told I can run 15psi with the fuel mods I have done(190 pump and fpr set at 57). Thjats what I told my friend that the bosst is much more linear and not wham bam 15psi at 2300rpms. In 1st-3rd I ran it up and he said I take back to "put you in the seat" comment. In 4th and 5th it accelerates faster than the t25 did, the only thing thats missing is the neck snap....anyways do you think I can run 15psi with what I have?? Im still on the stock sidemount. Thanks
Andrew

edit no I just ported the stocker a little and yes its matched.

Use can use a bead of RTV for the outlet gasket. I just put a thin layer (1/16" or so) on both the turbo and outlet pipe, let it set-up for 10 minutes or so, and then assemble.

Do you have some sort of fuel control like an AFC? Do you have any dattalogging stuff or a friend who does because it sounds like things are a bit of a mess. That fuel pressure if it is indeed 57psi is way to high and will make tuning the car a huge pain. Higher fuel pressures always seem to get in the way and end up causing more problems than they fix and to top it off, running to rich can cause knock. With less than 16psi of boost you should have no problems running stock fuel pressure on stock injectors. That's assuming that when you said 57psi, that it was 57psi base fuel pressure set with the vacuum hose off and plugged?

Ok I have the gasket coming from mitsu(they had to order one). How much fuel pressure should I be running for 15 psi? The only reason its that high is because of the 190 pump after I installed it it went to that from 52psi. No I dont have a safc or logger, I just need a decent set up til I do get those things. Thanks for the help.
Andrew

edit: the only reason for uping the fuel pressure is to extend the injectors a little for the b16g. the fuel pressure is with the hose connected and I didnt touch it after the install of my fuel pump.

I thi8nk it was $ 4.00 but I got it at dealer cost as I ordered it from my work(ford dealer). They had to special order it and it wont be to them til mon or tues and I ordered it fri. so Ill problly see it either of those two days. I would figure about 6-10 off the top of my head.

Gasket should be in tomorrow, heres whats causing the problem:

fuelsys1 closed
fuelsys2 n/a
MAF .8 lb/m
o2s11 .00v <--------BAD!!
o2s12 1.00v
shrtft12 1-17%
shrtft11 2-17%
shrtft1 3-17%
sparkadv 5-10 deg before tdc
tp 1.1%

all taken at idle....Im sure the gasket missing doesnt help but this is DEFINATLY the problem. NGS is god sent I just cant wait til I get a logger so I dont have to go to work to use it.
