I was wondering if anyone had any idea of where I could go to get diagrams (pictures) of a Big 16G being installed. I am having problems finding where to buy the oil supply line and water pipe assembly and I am trying to find the banjo bolts for the install. I have a 2G head and a 1G block that I am installing on.

It's exactly the same as a 14b install/removal.

The top bolt goes to the head on the passenger side,
The bottom is the drain,
the front is the water inlet that comes from the water pipe,
the rear is the water outlet that goes to the tstat housing.

Extreme PSI or JNZ Tuning should have all the hardware you need. Look up the application as if you were using the turbo on a 1G to get the correct oil lines.

Your 2G factory water lines will work with slight modification.

Is there step by step instructions for a 16g install on a 1g? Considering he has a 1g block. Which I also have and can't figure out which way the water lines go.

I'm pretty sure the blocks are the same from 1g - 2g apart from 6bolt 1990-1991 then 7bolt 92+ so the lines and holes will be in the same place! Ams performance do the 16g install kit also maperformance so it aswell so you have choices! Hope you get it sorted correctly.

Installation isn't hard at all. You can just look at the turbo in the car now to see where the lines go....or I can just tell you:

The fitting on the top of the turbo is for the oil feed...if you're going the stock route, it will be fed from the passengers side of the head. Or you can get an oil feed line to go from the oil filter housing to the turbo.

The fitting on the bottom is for the oil drain to the oil pan...it is the only fitting that looks the way it does.

The fitting on the front of the turbo is for the water in. The stock pipe is kind of a "U" shape. It will have a brake line type fitting on one end that will screw into the lower water pipe, and the other end will be a banjo fitting to go into the turbo.

The fitting on the rear of the turbo is for the water out. The stock pipe has a banjo fitting on one end that will connect to the turbo, and the other end will just be open. You connect a small piece of rubber coolant hose from this to the thermostat housing.

That's exactlty the way I installed it, but there is no way that the u shaped pipe is going to be able to screw into the lower water pipe. I am pretty sure I set it up correctly though. I will post pictures later. Thanks

That silver pipe sticking out to the left of the turbo in that second picture is the water out. The first pic is kind of pointless but it's showing that I installed the water in pipe (u shaped pipe) in the front of the turbo so it goes underneath to the rear of the turbo.

I can't do that because the car has a 1g engine and when I bought it it had a 16g in it but it was seized so I bought a new 16 g and it came with 1g turbo coolant lines and they should be bolting right up. but for some reason they aren't. Also the 14b coolant lines are the same as the 16g lines so I don't get why I'm having such a hard time.

Your water pipe is probably bent. The easiest way I found to connect the line is to leave the banjo bolt real loose on the turbo and put the screw fitting end into the lower water pipe. After that is screwed in, then tighten the banjo bolt on the turbo. When I went to reinstall my 16g after taking it off, I had that problem.

I don't know if you can see the small 3/8 rubber hose in the second picture but isn't that my lower water pipe? Can't I just connect the u shaped pipe to the rubber hose?

There is no way the u shaped pipe is going to connect to that lower water pipe without the rubber hose thats on the lower water pipe.

No. The U-shaped water out pipe connects to the bottom of the main water pipe. It screws right in. UNLESS you are using a NON-TURBO block. The non turbo models DO NOT have the connection for the water pipe.

Also, that rubber hose that you pointed out is for the OIL COOLER...

If the photos you posted are of the car you're installing the turbo on, that's NOT a 1G water pipe and thermostat housing....so installing the 1G water lines will be rather difficult.

That rubber hose has coolant in it right now. If thats for the engine oil cooler where do the coolant lines get hooked up to? I don't see anywhere that I'm suppossed to screw that u shaped pipe into. Maybe I should have mentioned this earlier I have a 97 gs shell with a 4g63T motor in it.

How can I install these 1g coolant lines?

Find a 1G water pipe, thermostat housing, and lower rad hose.

Otherwise, find some T25 lines and manipulate them to work. That's what 99.9% of the 2G population does.

Wow, I just realized that the OP and the guy that's been asking all of the questions are two different guys....soooo, this other guy posting the pictures probably has a 7 bolt, trying to use 6 bolt water lines. Not gonna happen.

No I actually have a 6 bolt engine the problem was that I have a 2g NT water pipe so there was nowhere to bolt the U shaped pipe up to but it's still not a problem because as long as coolant is running through the lines it should be fine so I connected the U shaped pipe to the thermostat houing via 3/8 rubber hose and it works perfectly thanks though
