What’s up guys I have a 99 gst I bought about 8 months ago and driver door handle was broken. Replaced it about few weeks with an Amazon part and today it just broke again. Just the plastic isn’t worth a thing.. does anyone have a link for a better less cheaply made driver door handle. They are such a pain to replace I’m trying to make this my last time replacing it

I didn’t go in so far as selecting options to see if they were available. Past those, I’m not sure what options there are.

Buy a new oem handle or if you can find them the metal one. I wont even bother with the ones on Amazon or parts store.

Bought a pair of the VMC door handles yesterday, my doors are still good for now, but God only knows when they'll give out, I've explained to my folks that they're fragile but I feel like the only one who opens the doors carefully, futureproofing to save myself the headache of dealing with plastic/cheap replacements. When I bought them I noticed that the 'as machined' option was already sold out, so no kidding these metal handles go out fast, I was able to get 'ready to paint', I don't know if they can be used as if but if the color is a bit too off from my Minden Silver Pearl then I may take them someplace to be paint matched.

My $8 door handle from RockAuto has been fine for a few years now.

The biggest issue with breaking door handles is the key fob range was terrible and there is no visual or audio sign that the door unlock command was received by the car.

So you’d go to open the door and it’s still locked and bang snap the door handle
