I am in the process of removing all of my vacuum lines and was wonder what the best way to block off the emply vacuum nipples is... I was just going to screw a nail in the useless vacuum line but it looks like crap LOL...

Thanks

If you have those white wire shelf things check those for the end caps. I just grabbed those off of anything in the corner and put them on with those little circular clip things and it has worked perfectly ever since :thumb:

Look at them first. Most of the crap you will find is weak and will die from underhood temps. Check at NAPA or your local privateer parts monger.

Yea, I seen the caps at autozone but they appeared cheap.... Ill pick some up today and see how they work...

Also...

I read some other post and some people say to make a block off plate for my EGR valve... And others say just to leave it because on a 2G the natural state of the valve is closed...

Should I build a block off plate or just leave it how it is?

And...

I also read that I should T my BOV line for my MBC.... I have it connected to the nipple on my T28 right now and then to the WGA... I thought this would be more accurate because the vac lines would be shorter.... Which is better?

Thanks

are there any long lasting ideas? Those vacuum caps don't last very long, and the ones on my throttle body blow off from time to time. I always keep a ton of spares in the car at all times.

those little clamps never held crap on for me it all came loose with time, just no strength to them. I has some thin bailing wire laying around, i just looped that around and twisted the ends down. It works great i use it for everything couldn't be happier.

Im with spinz on bumping old threads i would rather people do this than have 400 threads show up with five replies on every topic when i search.

So if I did the egr block off mod and elimintated all my vacuum lines. Would I have to put caps on the ends still or just leave em w/out?

You would need to block them off i think, i just did that myself but put the block off plate on and then the EGR on top of it and left it hooked up that way it looks like its still functional, course i haven't gotten that back on the road yet so who knows if it actually works that way haha oh i have a six bolt swap, sooo it may be different for you.

I used the clamps that come on the stock hoses and that worked fine for me because my vacuum caps were a pretty tight fit in the first place. I just pulled mine off of those white storage rack things you can find in your closet/garage/laundry room, etc... If that doesn't work you can jb weld a screw into a small vacuum hose and clamp that on or do what someone else said and connect one nipple to the other.

I just looped small ammounts of good silicone vac line for the TB nips.

As for teeing into the BOV line for a mbc. NOOOOOOO. Please leave the bov line virgin and un-effected. Pull from either the compressor outlet elbow, j-pipe if you have a fmic, OR the compressor housing itself.

DO NOT MESS WITH THE BOV VAC LINE!
