Best Wax and Interior cleaners,

just like it says am in need of some info i have some bad swrils on my cars body and in-need of waxing. I do own a buffer might be using that as well shot me some tips on what i should do -Thanks

i was in charge of a detail/speciality paint shop for quite awhile. I would recommend for the swirl marks- 1st- get a nice wool pad and a nice foam polishing pad- not a foam cutting pad. 2nd- i used 3m but most name brand compounds will be comparable (stay away from eagle one, its garbage). Get a nice polishing glaze and get a medium compound, you will not feel any grit in a medium compound and it will have the consistency of slightly watered down yogurt. Of course wash your car before hand. If you have an air compressor with an air sprayer on it you should blow out all molding around the doors, all door jams, mirrors, any place where water may hide. The only time to clay bar it would be if you have concrete spots dried to it or other equally hard little spots. keep in mind that the clay you should use is specific, and it runs $30 wholesale for a very small piece designed for only a few uses. example: we got in 36 cars that had sat next to a road while it was being paved and were covered in concrete. they actually needed the clay bar. If you do the clay bar, KEEP IT LUBRICATED at all times. the best thing to use is liquid spray on wax to lubricate it. Now you can buff it. Apply the medium compound in thin squiggly lines to the car just on the part you are doing at the moment. then with your wool pad, turn the buffer up to one of the higher speeds and glaze it over the surface. you'll get the hang of it soon and wont be having all that overspray, dont worry. it should leave a film. now, with your air compressor, spin the pad and spray out all the excess compound from the pad. return to the glazed up portion and with your relatively dry pad buff it until the glaze disappears. the only way you will burn the paint is if you keep the buffer in one spot for too long. also keep it away from plastic and rubber molding, windshield wipers, antennas etc. continue this way throughout the car. after that has been done, it is time to polish. put on the foam pad, use your polish compound the same way you did the medium compound, except this time put it on a very low speed and go with the buffer, never fight against it. this will take longer because the polish glaze is stubborn and doesn't want to go away. depending on your finish on your paint, you might want to try swirl eliminator polish instead, your call on that. some glaze left over is no big deal because you'll want to wax anyway and it will take it off very nicely. for wax i would recommend some nice almost liquid wax that has the same consistency as your medium compound. apply with a pad, do the whole car in one shot, let it glaze, then take a microfiber towel (they are expensive but well worth it try it you'll see) they are usually green, and lightly feather off the glaze. you should have a deep, swirl free finish. For interiors i recommend murphey's oil soap diluted with water, except for leather. After that you can find a product called Perfect 10, it comes in an aerosol can and you can LIGHTLY dust your plastic, vinyl, rubber, leather etc. and give it a shine better than original. hope this helps.

When me and my dad use to detail cars for a living, we always used meguiers gold class products, and we were very satisfied with them.
