I am just looking for the best street or (pump gas turbo) to put me in the 300-400 hp range that is not water cooled. Also I need opinions on Balll bearing or not.

With about 8 seconds of research, the most readily available turbos for this would be anything with a garret center section. A PTE, slowboy, agp, whoever 50 trim is probobly what you would want. The FP green comes in only oil cooled if you want it. As far as ball bearing goes, I don't care who says what...it is better. It just may not be so much better to justify the price increase. They are usually a few hundred more. Really, I'd say an Evo 16G would be best for your application, but it doesn't come in only oil cooled.

You can make any "water cooled" turbo into an oil cooled turbo by capping off the water lines on the turbo and then running a line between the two lines on the car. Why you would do this however I'm not really sure of, since water cooled turbos will generally last longer than an oil only one.

This is correct. There are quite a few people who do this with the 16g's. However with eliminating the water lines to the turbo you will have to let the turbo have "cool down" time after each time the car runs. I would suggest a turbo timer.

50-trim. It's readily available with a dry CHRA and it fits nicely in that horsepower range. Not to mention good characteristics for a street DSM.

Only reason I would like a dry center section is for a cleaner install. That is the only reason. I have never heard of anyone just blocking off the water lines to an EVOIII. Could I do that for now, but just make sure I let it cool down for a while after I run it? My car is only driven maybe a few times a month in the summer months so wear isn't really an issue.

Yes, if you block off the water lines on the Evo III it'll still work fine. Like stated above, just let it cool down a while after you drive.

Can I use the bolts that bolt on the water lines to block off the holes, or are they too long?
