Best Sounding And Best All Around Blow Off Valve?

I'm looking for a LOUD functional blow off valve. have any suggestions. im looking for something in GReddy. Maybe R or RS.

Also im looking for a good small full auto turbo timer. maybe Blitz or Apexi. let me know
 
I think the HKS is the best sounding I have friends with turbo XS greddy etc and the HKS SSQV IMO rules them all*they all think so to ROFL* I have mine set to hard and under boost when you go to shift it sounds CRAZY yet it's cool when your just driving normal it makes a small PSSSH :sneaky: but then when you get all up on it&start spooling PSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH :rocks: Oh yah on a side note my car passed smog with the HKS venting it doesn't surge at idle and it doesn't stall when you push in the clutch coming up to a light and it doesn't run weird at all.

Okay then, explain to me and all of us how venting to the atmosphere adds hp and tq.......... :toobad:
 
Espoc19, that BOV you posted a link to earlier will not fit under the hood on the stock upper i/c pipe because of clearance issues. (At least it won't on a 2g.)

98turbo, I'm sorry to bust your bubble......but, venting to atmosphere has absolutely no effect on your horsepower. :thumb: The only way it could is if you didn't plug the tube going into your intake, but that would let in soo much unmetered air that your engine would run super lean. :notgood:
 
i have a greddy type s with a recirc (alum) tube and it's frickin loud, i get heads turned all over the place, but it doesn't help my brakes sqeek as i drive so they dont think it's a bov
 
correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the greddy type-s look kinda like the stock bov (shape wise)??? So.........could the stock bov simply be replace with an greddy or are would you have to replace the tubes and flange too?
 
Tial BOV is by far the BEST bov around. Look at people like Shepard and such. Notice they all run them? That was good enough for me.

It is an open air BOV however. I personally had no problem running open air with my old Turbo XS H-RFL however. I did upgrade to a blow threw MAFT setup before I got my Tial though.

My car never stumbled or stalled and it was only rich for a second when it released on the H-RFL though but DON'T get that BOV. It's a hunk or crap even with a blow threw setup. Just don't like to hold boost.

Other people have all kinds of problem with open air though. Each car is different.

If you want a loud BOV but need to pipe it back in, get a 3inch intake and a Greddy Type RS with the recirculated fitting. The RS seems to be a bit better then the Type S from what I've seen. I know a couple people running them and I heard Greddy did offer a fitting to pipe it back in.

if you have a stock 1G flange you can drill 2 new holes closer together and fit a Greddy Type anything BOV onto it. There is a VFAQ on www.vfaq.com
 
ROFL, what the hell? Now there are claims that venting increases horsepower?!?!?!? How is that EVEN possible? A REAL explaination would be nice.

Venting in itself does NOT increase horsepower, maybe on a blow thru setup (GM MAFT/MAS) that is DESIGNED to be vented..but how do you figure you gain 20TQ and 3HP from venting? There is no logic behind it.

Look, it's not like I'm arguing with you people. I couldn't believe it neither. I was getting my baseline dyno and on the 3rd pull I figured I would vent to see how much whp you LOSE when you vent. Well, to my suprise and everyone else's, I gained 20tq and 3whp by doing that. I dont' know how it did it, I don't know why. I don't have proof other than the video that's on this website somewhere. If you guys don't believe me, that's fine, I honestly don't blame you cuz it does sound retarted, but I know it's true. The only way I could see it giving you power is I left the whole open on the intake and maybe it sucked that air through that whole... :confused:
