I was just wondering what peoples favorite blow off valve was. I have a stock one and i am looking to purchase one and i was wondering which one other people said was there favorite, which one they liked the best and so forth.

well you can go with semi cheap 1g bov wich is MUCH better than our factory 2g ones.

a tiny bit pricy would be g reddy
and expensive would be bhs i beleve ther expensive around 400 but there worth it (if you like it loud as hell )
i would go with g reddy decent price with backbone

I've run just about every valve made, including some most people haven't seen. If you need to recirculate, it is very hard to beat a 1g valve for trouble free operation and ease of use. For more than 20psi, just mod the 1g. If you don't need to recirculate, a Tial style valve has been my favorite so far. The size, easy V-band setup, and the fact that you get it set once and never really need to adjust it make it really nice to use.

All other valves have had something with them that is a pain in the ass. Getting the greddy to not surge, the screw on top to the rfl that can get cross threaded, the weird mounting of the ssqv.

It's all a matter of taste. If you prefer the sound of one, I'm sure you'll be able to deal with it's drawbacks.

Anything really will do fine unless you're going with a big build with more than say, 30psi.

I just bought a new BOV, a NGR Type-S, they're basically the prime new manufacturers of the Greddy Type S and it has been proved they've fixed the weak diaphram that caused the issues of the Greddy Type S.

They're a new company trying to get their foot in the door. I just got mine today and am installing it now.
So far everything looks A+

It's also not priced horribly. $130 for a new bov that can hold up to 30psi and sounds pretty neat even recirculated - not too bad.

I love the way HKS sounds but didnt wanna keep it since I wasnt sure it could handle my boost lvl, but no problem running alot of boost with the Tial Q BOV.

I will be upgrading to a tial in the future. My greddy s always has issues. It struggles at 25psi, the top bolt can sometimes leak, and it can cause a lot of compressor surge (even with my Holset). The giant valve of the Tial and its ability to hold a lot of boost gets my vote.

I run the synapse engineering BOV. It is absolutely amazing! The manual states that it can hold up to 100 psi! I had let my buddy with a supra try it, he was on the dyno at 35 PSI and this thing was rock solid closed!

I do have to warn you that it doesn't make a rice sound when it blows off tho. So if you want your car to sound like a whistle or something look somewhere else.
Just like a solid thud and hiss, almost how the stock 1g's sound when they are not recirculated.

Here is the manual

and some videos in action vs a HKS and on a SRT4 (I love how the grass moves LOL)

Good Luck :hellyeah:

The Forge recirculate one sound cool. This one of a kind sound is what differentiates the ones hoarding over the HKS SSQV (OHHH SUPER SEQUENTIAL bov) thinking that it's better. :tease::banghead:

I wish I stay with Forge but I couldn't trust it taking over 40 psi. :toobad:

It sounds like the last 3 sec on a DSM!

NGR Type-S. Exactly like the Greddy Type-S but better. Simple and common flange. Simple to adjust. It also has a classic sound. Youtube it. They sell them on eBay for 140$. Goodluck on your choice.

Wow, I would get tired of the SSQV sound after 5 minutes and regret my purchase of it ROFL

i have the greddy type s on my wrx and i wouldnt buy it again if i had a chioce. its seriously almost inpossible to set it up not to surge at low boost under medium load like normal driving unless if u rev it semi high itll surge like a mofo on my wrx. its fine under high boost but low it surges sounds cool n all but not what i want. on my gsx i have the 1g crushed recirc. with intake pipe and its pritty loud

I have a hks on my awd. Its recirculated w/ 4" intake and filter. I like it, its kinda quiet cruising but loud when your in boost.

Doesnt the HKS seal better under more load...since it is pushed closed by boost. Not normally closed like other BOV's??

Yes the HKS BOV is a differential pressure control system but have heard from alot of people who tuned cars on high bost with the HKS BOV that the HKS still seems to leak. So I had money to play with and decided to get the new Tial.

Yeah... HKS tried to make their BOV all high tech with a dual valve structure system using not only a primary valve but also a secondary which just ends up biting them in the a$$ after people realize they do still leak.
