I'm curious what your favourite daily driver set-up would be for a 1g 6-bolt DSM.

In reality, there is no such thing as a general daily driver. There are people that drive their bone stock ones everyday. But there is also people who have fully built 35R setups running E85 as their daily driver.

So the question isn't what parts are good for one, but what do you want your daily to do? Do you want it to: spool fast, hit hard, make a bazillion HP, get good gas mileage, not break, etc. Just say what you would want it to be and then it will be a lot easier. If not, then this thread will just fill up with "IMO" and stuff.

I loved my E316g on a SMIC and I'm sure I'll love my 30R on a ETS FMIC too. It's all about personal preference.

depends on how much HP you think you need and how much lag you are willing to put up with.....

E316G is probably the most capable turbo with the lease lag of any turbo for our cars. With a good tune and supporting mods people have gotten 400 hp from them...

I loved the E316G turbo on the streets but after driving in a friend's 50 trim setup I would much rather run that on the streets because you can still maintain a fairly reliable setup with a 50 trim and if they are tuned good they can spool almost just as fast as an 16G.

^ Agree

With that being said, IMO, my car is the best daily driver....well, an awd version. :D

I think a daily driver needs to be reliable and never break. This is tough to do after you start modding, especially because once you start modding you just catch some sort of DSMease and can't stop making it better. I DD mine (well once I get it back from getting the effing clutch fixed . . .) and its no where near stock.

That sounds like what he wants, everyones opinion on what there favorite DD set up is, not what you think he should use for his DD

my dd setup is a 50trim 880injectors wally255 comp272lift cams huge fmic and a fully built .20over 6bolt block and tons more... and at 15psi it is very reliable i drive it everyday!!!! besides from the damn tranny problems haha

that is basically it.

Wait on 2nd thought, a DD is how much money you can throw at it and how hard you can beat on it,
yeah that sums it up!

or you can be a newb and go buy the most expensive parts and still scratch your head when your running 15s.

The best thing to do is research. Find a good combination and a good TUNE. Its about the TUNE. There is a member who broke into 11s on a 14b. Ive seen other members there with holsets. Ive also seen a member running a T28 into the mid 15s.
