Well, here's the only damage the motor that hydrolocked took... the bearings in the crank and all rods (even this bad one) were in great shape and almost looked new. The cylinders still had cross hatchings and i think i will be able to put new rings on a set of 2g pistons on 1g rods with ARP bolts i have layin downstairs and make a complete running shortblock as a backup.
Here's a pic of the only damaged part of the motor.... It took on close to 2 gallonsof water between the IC , IC pipes and what was added to the oil (not counting what flew out of the polug holes when i pulled them and crnked it over)
Anytime i revved past 3500 RPM or was more than 50% in the throttle the J&S would go crazy so i knew i had either wiped bearings or bet a rod and since there was no bearing noise i took my bet on the rod. I went to my parents house where i did the swap today to get some things and decided to pull the motor apart and see how well shemade out..
here's the pics - there's also one of my baffle-less valve cover that is being setup with some rather large vents that ihope should keep the gaskets in check under daily 30psi blasts down the roads/highways.. I will re-paint it before it goes on, still trying to figure my routing the best way before putting it in - The black part in the middle of the -6 lien is where i spliced the factory PCV valve into the line.. i will keep it in there, probably in a different spot though, between the can and intake
