me and my friend just pulled my oil pan and it was nothing but gold shavings inside the oil pan...... we check the bearings on the crank and they were completly shot...... anyone got any suggestions on which route to take????? wanna upgrade the whole block...what to buy????? thanks

well u definetly have to take the motor our and get everything machined.

U dont have to upgrade if u dont have the money. stock motor holds about 450 so .

Depending on what mods u have if u dont plan to make more then 300 or so i would not even bother upgrading anything

new rings, new barings, machine everythin new hg, lower end gasket kid and ull save ur ass a whole shti load of money.

well my future plans are to push as much power out of this car as possible

Be sure you run a penny across the crank journals and make sure it's not leaving any copper behind - getting them mic'd to check specs would be good too. When you reassemble with new bearings (main & rod), be sure to plastigauge everything and make sure the tolerances are within spec.
The block is probably ok, I wouldn't have it machined if it were me.

Go to Magnus and review the 1G in a 2G swap http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/article_1g2g.htm

oh if u have a 7 bolt id definetly do the 6 bolt swap

are u gonna do the engine work ur self?

it depends on the shops u goto.

If i were u i would go on the nj.dsm.org forum post up what happend and if u have a garage as soem one to come help u and u give them some money im sure they will.

pizza and beer is alot cheaper then 1000$ at a shop to just pull and put in another motor :)

i have a garage to do the work in but what do i need to buy and how much
