Hey Everybody,

I was wondering does anybody know the exact size of a replacement 1st gen battery, like the actual inches (lxwxh)? I think I heard it is like a group 24.

The reason I ask is because I am into car audio a lot and I want to get a Everstart Maxx from Walmart with 900 cca's, I think it will fit but I don't know for sure. I would check for myself but I don't have my car with me right now.

Also if you are wondering why I just won't move the battery to the back I don't have the funds to do it properly now. By the way the battery is going in a 1991 Eclipse GSX, thanks.

heh Not happening, I work for Walmart back in the Tire and Lube Shop I wanted to go with a bigger battery to but its just a lil to high, it'll ground its self out on the hood. Only battery Walmart carrys that will fit is a little crappy one.

Dammit, that sucks isn't there a way you can lower the battery tray? Thanks for the responace though, did you just try the long one? Because they have another everstart maxx that is 900 cca but looks like it could possibly fit,i can't remeber what series it is though you might would have to cut down the post some though. Thanks again

oh damn i just saw that is said you worked there so nevermind i know you know what yo uare talking about. What battery did you end up going with?

Here is a pic of the one that I am thinking about, like I said it looks like it will fit if I take the battery tray out. The terminals are the only thing bothering me, I might have to cut them down.

yeah thats the maxx-1N. I've looked all through the book we have at the counter and it lists all the measurements of the batterys and I believe that one is like 1in - 1.5in to tall compared to what it says will fit in there. I havent bought a new battery yet, because I am going to relocate mine to the trunk os I can get a bigger better one.

I just came back from wal-mart and was looking at it, you are right about the inch to tall thing. Is there a way to possibly lower the battery tray 1 to 1.5 inches without interfering with anything? I need to keep the battery in front for the power class i will be running in db dbrag, if not then i will just got with something smaller, thanks

be careful if you do that, I dunno how many GM's I've seen come in with rounded terminal bolts.

Ithink yopu can actually buy the terminal bolts and screw them in then just slide the factory battery terminal over that, i'm thinking this should work, thanks though
