ok the car is a 95 rs it was running fine until i put in my stereo and now i have a drain somewhere but among that there is another problem it wont charge the battery. the car runs fine after a jump start but wont charge it. the battery is only a few months old and from looks the alt. fuse is fine anyone have any ideas on what else it could be?

If you get the answer to this then let me no cause i have the same problem. i did research on here and everything comes back to the ECU!!!!! alternator is good, battery is brand new, and im stumped! and it all started with the same thing installing the radio. LOL

i have some personal experience with this problem. my problem was in my old neon, but i believe it may be similar. i also installed my stereo, and what happened was it blew my fusible link in the charge wire from the alternator to the battery. easy fix for me was running a very thick gauge wire from the charging post on the alternator to the battery positive. if my theisis is correct that should fix your problem.
