well i found out why my wideband has been reading so far off (needed recalibrated). with that fixed i was going to set my base timing. when i ground the timing plug the car will not run what so ever, it will start but die immediately after. can someone tell me what going on and why its doing this. thanks in advanced.

jesse

maybe 10 psi. its an automatic. and from my understanding it should be way higher than that.

and cas isnt exactly center but, pretty darn close

i grounded mine today to set the timeing and it droped about 200 rpm when grounded.i used white out and set my base timing to 5 degree advance.i used a 50$ timing light and had no preoblems with it makes things easy no guess work.

i am using a timing light and i did use white out for a more visible reading on timing marks, so im not guessing, im doing everything right

Your vacuum at idle is 10 inches of mercury? Yah, that's a problem. My recently refurb'd engine sits at 24 inches of mercury at idle. Is it steady, or does it bounce around? You should do a boost leak test, compression and a leak-down test. I'm guessing your rings are very worn, or you have a vacuum leak.
