base timing??

to retard the timing, you move the cas toward the front of the car, advancing it is to the firewall..correct? im getting a lot of knock after or around 6000 rpm and in a shift. and im gettin enough fuel. i think im to advanced because when i put race fuel in my car..no knock.
 
I think its the other way around..... clockwise is advance counter clockwise is retard and remmeber use a timing light when doing this....

He's right... 100% positive. You'll also be able to see the base timing change with a timing light as you adjust the postion of the CAS.

that means you are running too lean on pump gas. Turn the boost down on pump gas, or increase the fuel. You don't need as much fuel with race gas, due to the octane rating and slower burn capacity of race gas. That's why you aern't knocking. Race gas has better resistance of detonation.
