OK guys heres whats up. I took my talon apart over winter was too poor to get it running sooner and i took the head off and put a new t-belt/headgasket/head studs. i got the gasket on the ARP head studs on and torqued. i need to put the belt on and get the cam gears and crank in the right position. i was told get the cam gears timing marks parallel and what do i do with the crank? also i was told to turn it over by hand with no spark plugs in it just so i dont bend valves. and i have no clue how to do base timing i believe i go off the CAS on the intake cam. i have never done timing before as you can all obviously tell by now. i wil have access to a timing gun and a Chilton Manual thats all i can go by. HELP ME!!! or if there are any local guys who wanna help let me know.
Thanks, Cullen

i feel like such an idiot... i dont understand any of it, i dont have the "special tools"
see my CAS is set to where it was originally. i just need the belt on. with the crank and cam gears timing marks where they should be. then i should be good to go right?
i dont know i just need help. can i use my buddies 1992 Laser RS-T to match it up will that work?

oh and i dont have access to a timing gun anymore

You should get access to one if you don't like bent valves.. do the job right.

Quit spreading mis-information. You won't bend valves without a timing gun. You set the timing by hand with the belt. Then adjust your ignition timing using a timing light. Ignition timing has nothing to do with bending valves.
