Hey folks,

i took the time to take some pics of one of the 50's we have in stock. I also have a couple of notes that i think you will find helpful.

Here you can see the restricter that is included to help keep oil pressure from hurting your center section.

Here you can see one of the water inlets

Just another shot with the restricter and the water inlet.

As far as the water hook up, the stock 2g water lines can be used with just a little bending and maneuvering. The banjo bolt fits without a problem but you do have to bend the water drain line a little bit to fit just right.

As far as testing. The 4431 is what i run and i put it into my old bullseye housing and i can see that i have seen at least a 200rpm difference in spool on pump gas and that 300 is so useful it's ridiculous. Once i get back from SEMA I'll be doing some tuning on the car and I'm sure i can get even better spool.

Since the compressor and exhaust housings are the same as the conventional bearling versions, do they sell just the CHRA so can save $

I'm sure the used conventional-bearing T3/T4 turbo market will be depressed once these start to take off ;)

we are going to offer that for those who have alredy invested in one of the SCM series turbos. Right now i don't know how soon we could though with there being such a small supply available. I'll keep you updated though as to how soon.

With many threads of oil seal blowout on PTEs with conventional CHRAs, I hope one of the vendors will offer definitive information as to the correct oil lines/restrictors to uses with this new BB CHRA after it has been actually tested firsthand :thumb:

I too have heard about the PTE turbos blowing out their oil seals but these turbos aren't actually made by PTE. They are full Garret CHRA's with a PTE bolt on housing. The are exactically the same as the ones from AGP with the exhaust housing being the only difference. I confirmed this by talking with both Martin at SF and Jon at AGP. So basically it comes down to which exhaust housing you would really like. Though Martin has told me he can do both. Though the Bullseye will cost alittle extra from SF.

I just spoke with Martin and he says the last 50 trim is goin out today  . They will be on special order for the time being.

more are on the way bud. Even with the little extra cost for the bullseye housing it still is a great value. keep in mind that the pricing on the PTE is a very limited intro price. it will be going up some time in the near future.

I know this thread is about the 50 trim but I just made the plunge and i'm going with the PTE 6031BB. Let me tell you these things look like the reald deal and will soon replace basic 360 thrust bearing turbo's but from what I hear will not cut into the CHRA/GT buyers because the GT's seem to be more effecient. But for like 300 more dollars I would hope it was more effecient. I will not disclose the price I got my 6031 for if the person who sold me it wants to tell you he can but I will say that the intro deal on this had me literally running to the bank( The car is down because NO TURBO duh).

I look forward tobeing the first person to have this thing running and makin serious power :thumb:

Is it possible to run these bb turbo's without coolant lines? I previously ran a 50 trim (oil seals gave out) which didnt have the coolant lines.

That is because the conventional bearing housings are oil-cooled (higher pressure/flowing oil feeds) , the BB housings are water cooled and the oil is primarily for lubrication (low-pressure oil feeds).

If you ran without the coolant lines on the BB housing you'd end up with an expensive paperweight pretty quickly :dsm:

So are these BB 50 trims in stock? I have heard they are sold out everywhere and PTE is waiting for the cartridges from Garrett and its going to be a while.

yeah we shipped our last one on Tuesday of last week. PTE is saying a couple of weeks. that usually means about 4-5. I'll keep you guys posted though. we do however have the big daddy 6152 in bb now. i know a lot of people from this very community have laid down some crazy numbers with the journal 61. imagine that power with a ball bearing center. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :rocks: :rocks:

About the waterlines...does somebody knows if the waterline bolts(banjo?) are the same thread size on stock turbo and BB turbo???

thanks...what about the oil feed line...you took it from the oil filter housing or the head? I see they already have a restrictor...

Since when is the Bullseye housing a great value?

I can't wait to get rid of mine.

i wasn't saying that the "bullseye housing" was a great value. I stated that even with the additional cost of the bullseye housing on the turbo it is still a great value and i like the bullseye housing for a lot of people setups. I run a bullseye housing on my 60-1.

Ah, ok :thumb:

Personally, I think the Bullseye is entirely too small for most setups, but I won't clutter the thread.
