Garrett Performance Products has released a dual ball bearing 50 trim turbocharger that gives you all the same features as the 50 trim we've become to love, now with quicker spoolup. Dual steel ball bearings provide less rotational friction that will allow for quicker initial spoolup, and better transient response. If you want everything, get the 50 trim Ball Bearing.

We know what kind of power is possible from the 50 trim, so the only factor in buying one is how much better is the spool and transient response. If I could get full boost by 3400 instead of 3800 then I think it would be worth it, and I would buy one this week. Without some solid info I just can't justify the purchase. I would even be willing to use my car as the guinea pig for the turbo if I got it at half price(wishful thinking, I know)since it would be the perfect test bed to max it out. Anyway, just hoping for a response with some numbers from a vendor.

. Traction is bad enough as it is so why not make it spool a bit quicker. Besides its fun as it is passing people while spinning tire

The comp. map is the same as a non BB 50 trim.Generation X said:I agree I would love to see some dyno #'s or compressor maps of this bad boy.

Hey thanks for the info man.jmakado said:The comp. map is the same as a non BB 50 trim.

Yes, people blaming their lack of performance on their current turbo then buying into the hype and promise of a "new and improved" one instead of actually spending the time to properly tune their current setupUPGRADED2G said:This reminds me of the TO4B vtrim thread....which i have on my car. Does anyone see a pattern here....

I'll buy that any BB turbo should have slightly better spool off-boost, but remember in a race that difference is practically nil (unless you granny shift pausing btw gears).shleppy said:The only two reasons I can see for getting it would be faster spool and better longevity compared to the regular pte 50 trim.

But I'm tellin you I will have this things up and running real soon with some real world numbers for you guys so we can stop all this premature turbo talk.
