i had one, on my mr2. the turbine was ceramic. it is an internet name. do you think a more appropriate name would be "ceramic turbo from 4th gen 3sgte?"

i also had a true ct-26 that was ceramic that was from a jdm 3rd gen 3sgte.

you like to sound too literal about everything. pages like that are created by trolls who feel the need to correct everyone on stuff that isn't false, just not a fact.

i also ran 18-20 psi on my imaginary-named turbo and never had problems.

i thought it looked like ceramic because of the glaze-looking clear shine on the turbine, not because of the white or brown deposits. it really looks like a ceramic pot haha. usually a white deposit is ash from burned oil.

If it's Inconel, depending on how it's heated can effect the transition of color. I've had Inconel turbines that you literally cannot media-blast or wire wheel the discoloration from the turbine inducer tips....they'll always look "burnt".

Some Inconel turbines will discolor to a brown tone, some are more of a green color. Sometimes you can tell when the wheel is brand new, even before it's been heated by the exhaust flow. Compare the tint on both of these new turbines:

great info

i got a gt35r and before my engine reaches normal temp, the blades from the intake side scrape around the housing. Its not a constant scrape but it scrapes from time to time. The blades still look alright but i been wanting to fix it before it goes kapoot.

couple questions, do you know if they also replace the waste-gate actuator? and do i just contact TurboByGarret.com about a replacement?

I do not know if they replace the waste-gate actuator. But here is the list of Garret distributors that can answer your questions.

Has anyone here sent in a turbo and been turned down ? I have a Precision turbo that has some play that I would gladly send in..It has a Garrett BB center...

Has it been confirmed then that Garrett will not touch FP turbos? Just wanted to make sure this is still the case.

Garrett cannot source FP compressor wheels so they'll likely consider the turbo "modified" and deny it for exchange.

Currently I'm not sure if any of FP's lineup uses an actual Garrett GT CHRA anymore, so I'm not sure how FP would handle a repair/rebuild of such a unit.

I *believe* some of their bigger frame stuff does, but no longer the bolt on.

I have an FP gt4205 (it uses a genuine garrett core), if this helps at all..
