Balance Shafts

i am going to remove my balance shafts from my engine but im only going to remove one of them im going to leave the oil pump one so my question is will any thing happen if i only leave one and cancel out the other one.

Possibly more vibration if you only leave that one in. The balance shaft system is a classic college level Dynamics or Controls Class "mass-damper system" developed and designed by Mitsubishi for this engine. (I can get more technical by no one probably cares.) By only removing one BS you are changing the inputs of the system and thus will get different outputs... ie more/different vibrations. A system that was once designed to eliminate vibration will now more than likely add more vibration since you changed the properties.

Chances are it won't kill your engine but it won't help...

for 25 bucks you can do it right...

Remember to block all oil passages...

Get the stubby shaft, rotate the bearing and plug the hole on the cover, easy cheap and 100% effective.
