rebuilding the bottom end of my motor should i eliminate the balance shafts ? it wont be a daily driver but it will be driven often. do it have any really bad effects on the engine. they also make a kit for this dont they i am pretty sure i have seen one. any information would be greatly appreciated. thnx

Yank them out. They put them there to reduce NVH.

And to add weight, add rotating mass, reduce oil pressure, to make it more difficult to time the cams, and to add another belt that could potentially damage your engine if it breaks.

There are a 101 different kits to remove them, or you can make a kit with Satan parts, or you can do it for free.

I eliminated mine for less than $2.00. Take the front out, take the bearings out and reinstall them 180 deg to block the oil passages, for the back I cut the shaft off of the oil pump and welded the hole up. I had to buy a shorter bolt, and a freeze plug. Use the freeze plug to cover up the front B/S hole in the front cover, use the shorter bolt so you dont have to put the b/s belt tensioner back on. Good luck

yep take it out...your there and like it has been said^^^^ nothing really good comes of leaving them in. You can buy an all mitsu parts kit online from 50-65$, no rigging or creativity required
