Bad piston?

Are these still good to use? It had a broken oil ring, i'm guessing cause it was jammed into the cylinder on rebuild

I would not use it.... The ring will not have proper support
 
I figured ..its to bad they were expensive, could it have been anything else besides bad assembly? I would certainly not want this to happen again.
