Stroker, no compression, bad lifters or piston rings?

Ok, last night I tried starting my stroker motor for the first time.

It would crank over and over but nothing happened.

We ran a compression test on all four cylinders and nothing, absolutely nothing came up.

Next step: We rotated the engine to TDC and ran a leak down test (we took the hose from the compression tester and hooked up the air compressor to where the guage used to be and put roughly 40-60 psi in) on all the cylinders.

It seems that on at least three of the cylinders air would leak back into the intake or exhaust.

So we then took off the valve cover and it seems that some of the lifters are really stiff at TDC. I cant even press them down at all. Am I correct in thinking that they are junk? would that be keeping the valves slightly open enough that my car wouldnt start?

My other theories are:
1. piston rings are not sealing right, but that doesnt seem likely because I had the shop that bored my engine and purchased my pistons from assemble it all together.

2. the valve seats are not sealing, then again this was a professionally rebuilt head. Same shop that did my block.

3. This is far fetched but because this is a stroker motor....
I did the fuel injector swap (changing the wires down by the ecu, I have a 1995) and so that should be fine, but would having the coil pack hooked up out of order (I dont think it was but just incase) and something else cause the engine to not even give me a back fire?

4. Lastly would having my fuel pressure regulator set too low cause any of this to happen? I believe fuel is getting into the engine because when I crank it over I can smell fuel coming from the exhaust.

So I am out of ideas. Thanks for your help.

Take out all your spark plugs and cams and do another compression check. If it still comes back zero, you have a huge problem. It'll be unseated valves, usually due to a bending as the pistons hit the valves. This isn't uncommon when the lifters are not bled.

I figured it out, thanks to the help of some good friends.

No bent valves, no bad piston rings, no bad lifters, the problem was gear behind the other gear on the timing belt down on the crank was the wrong one! I used the one from the seven bolt crank and not the six. So my timing was way off yet nothing was broken. Luckily.

Long story short, my engine now runs! My stroker runs!
